Alright Notser, challenge for you, lets see you upload the FIRST game you play (not hand picked) in a tier 8 CV in a tier 10 game instead of just focusing on the tier 10.

T8 DDs can still sink BBs with clever play and torps, tier 8 CAs and CLs can still set tier 10 BBs on fire, still beat the every loving hell out of tier 10 DDs if they're caught in the open. Tier 8 BBs have the same armour scheme (32mm of bow armour) that tier 10 BBs do and so can still tank all but the Yamato sisters bow on. Meanwhile a tier 8 CV can't attack a tier 10 Cruiser (CA or CL) thanks to the massive boost in AA. Most tier 10 BBs apart from a very select few have more then enough AA to deter attacks and now they've massively nerfed rocket planes AND spotting they're not much cop against tier 10 DDs either.

Thanks, Notser - revisited this to see what "rental" ship I might want to try for Ranked. Ordinarily I have too little patience for Ranked, but it is a chance to try out a Tier X, so I think I will give the Hindenburg a go. (Noting that after 6,000 plus games since Closed Beta I only have two Tier 9s and no Tier 10s. Above Tier 8 they are just too expensive to buy and run. Plus, the game is too unstable now with the ongoing aircraft carrier drama and the new Russian battleships with impossibly fast turret traverse. Plus whatever hare-brained ideas Wargaming comes up with next.}

You picked the two most fun bbs in the game. Nice choices! Kurfurst excels when you have a division mate in a bb next to you and you just utterly shred the enemy in 10km range together with him. Get IFHE on the GK, you do something ridiculous like 90k damage with the secondaries alone in those situations thanks to IFHE.

Hindenburg was my first tier 10. I've enjoyed the rate of fire build, the survivability build with the Legendary module, and my stealth/rof/aa build. One of the best cruisers in the game.

My favorite ships on this game are the Yamato and the Hindenburg, by far so I was stoked to see this. Plus the fact that I dont like the overtly powerful BC that is the Alaska and its lower versatility vis a vis the Hindenburg which is a more complete and satisfying CV experience. I too like Jacks of all trades- you can be a lot of things at the sam e time and never what your enemy expects. Though I have to say... The Yamato is something else entirely :D

Good general advice. I don't ever expect to get a Tier X ship, they are just too expensive. Too bad, because Tier X is the first time you get a turret configuration that makes any sense in the German battleships and cruisers. (Fictional ships. . .) The general picture is good: you can now reconfigure your ships away from the full AA build that compromises everything else.

The Hindenburg requires flexible players to do well in. If you focus on a single playstyle, there is always a ship that's better at that one specific style. But when you can flick AP and HE, spam at range then brawl cruisers or even BBs, counter DDs while shooting down a few planes it's a brutal platform. My first tier 10 ever too. Not the easiest ship to play of course.

It's missing only one single thing and it's radar but that would be too much lol. Lately with the free respec I've tried vigilance with the super hydro mod. Spotting torps at 5km for days is amazing and you can provide advance warning for teammates without having to expose yourself too much.

Just bought him recently, first T10 also and is really nice ship, but sometimes you just get that urge to push in that cap with few ships in because you turn that hydro on and you can evade torps like nothing...DDs? let secondaries scare them off ...cruisers? shoot those guns to wreck them... what if a wild BB appears behind island? just launch all those torps, and you are like: is this all you got? Sure sometimes it doesnt go well, but if you have any support from 1 or 2 teammates you win that with ease. Also I put that special german captain with boosted vigilance on roon to try it out and sometimes it feels like you can spot torps while they are still loading them in torpedo tubes lol

Hindenburg, my first T10 and so far only T10 cruiser. Love the jack of all trades this ship is giving its captain, no build is better than the captains way to tailor the ship to his style. Will the legendary consumable (with BS instead of DE skill) be worth it with new flooding mechanics U tnink? Why using Aiming System Mod. 1 on a cruiser, wouldn't the AA Mod. 1 help to increase the air defense?

Since 0.8.0 I had a bunch of crashes and freezes, and AFKs due to this, put in a Ticket and a week later after being told I was under specced to play WoWs, it turned out to be a software bug, this might have happened to the Missouri, took me 3 to 5 mines to reboot and try and rejoin the game. Not much mention of this issue anywhere from WarGaming, even though there were at least 2 dozen mentioned this issue on the Asian Forum. Cannot say other servers, if they had issues? Anyhow, lovely to see Celebrity Deathmatches!!!!!! Have a great week, back to grinding out the ships. Spotting planes versus fighters. . . This makes a lot of sense. Planes are Wargaming's darlings only if they fly off of carriers. Float fighters from battleships or cruisers should be effective against attack planes (but not so much against carrier- or shore-based fighters). My experience has been that they are useless in AA defense - others may have had a different experience.

Holy shit! how bad the CV spotting is today... It is really overnerfed!!! While cruisers get massive ammounts of shot down aircraft, CVs can end a match without even a plane kill!! This is horrible! Balancing has gone out the windows in this patch. Planes can't survive anymore since ships like Minotaur can shoot with stealth AA, you spot it after you are under fire! what is the meaning with this? It sucks. The rate and numbers of shot down aircraft is horrible and needs to be fixed.

Hindenburg pre rework could reach AA stats as 95 (not even fully specced for AA). I am kinda sad what they did to her with the rework. 18 planes sound like a lot, but really isn't. I love this ship, really rewards intelligent gameplay and can fill nearly all roles on the battlefield. Only thing she doesn't has is radar.

It distracted me too. Thats why i do not use all range and detection markings on minimap. Just those that are most needed, wich bassicly are; detection range, firing range, torpedo range. Its enough for me.

I am still waiting for that Hakuryu game Notser. Having Zoup playing it for you does not count as one! *You and other CV hating CC's should take responsibility of the over nerfing of the CV's!* Especially IJN CV's are just too RNG now and cannot defend themselves from DD's anymore properly due to lack of HE bombs! Hakuryu alternative 6km torps need to be buffed by increasing the amount that is dropped to 3 or 4 even if their damage would be also reduced to 7-8k! Now they are simply useless with just 2 torpedoes dropped at tier 10!

There are two types of torps for the Haku. Longer range, longer arm time 4 torp setup, and shorter range (for IJN at least), shorter arm time 2 torp setup. And yeah, Haku is the only t10 IJN CV to have 4 torps because it's the only t10 IJN CV. The Midway has 6 per drop but they don't converge, are basically sea mine slow, and do ~4k on nose hits and ~2k on belt hits for BBs (CAs and CLs get more average damage on belt hits, but good luck catching one broadside with how slow the torps are even with TA). Midways torps are more useful for forcing potato BBs to show broadside to your team, and even then more and more are catching on that if you shift speed you can usually outrun or undershoot 2 or even 4 of them so you take practically no damage. I've gotten more damage on a single salvo from a DM or Hindy and with those your DPM is MUCH higher as well as it being impossible to intercept the shells.

I love my Hindenburg. Was the first ship where I earned the legendary module. Its already the tankiest Cruiser of them all.... but with that legendary module it really can be called a BB. The armor design is awesome, the guns are great, the agility is above average. Its just one of my most favourite ships to play and i will never get sick or bored in my lovely Hindi

They are only good against cruisers, which have the best AA, BBs (except low tier germans), will only get penetrations that can be healed

Winter Last yeah so they have the best weapon for every class Dds: rockets Cruisers: ap bombs and torps Bbs: torps and permaflood Where is the rock/paper/scissors balance with this class???

Rockets no longer of any use, torps on the Haku and all IJN cv's are utterly useless unless u go for the 2 torps choice which may give u a 5% chance of a hit. (40km) easily dodged by any wsad use, the dive bombers most viable option but very hard to get a good hit. I am not a CV player but have been playing them in their new format and as a mainly BB,DD player I can honestly say they are nerfed to being pointless. Any slightly competent DD player will never even notice CV's anymore and if u die to a CV ur either a bad DD player or you made a terrible error and got punished. I do not have US CV's so can't comment on them but may whatever Deity you believe in have mercy upon your soul if you are trying to get higher n tiers in CV's. The pain must be unbearable, hence why I won't go near starting the US CV line.

rubitoblondie you’re wrong on so many levels I see good cv players deal the same or more damage with the rework at t10 Dds are getting fucked by cvs not only with straight damage but with unavoidable spotting It’s not normal that a class deals 100k+ direct damage AND 100k spotting damage They already have the ability to zip from one side of the map to the other and deal damage while being Completely safe from any retaliation

@@underviv64 Rockets doesn't do much damage, even less after the nerf, they are just annoying for any DD with better AA than a Shima, Cruisers will rekt you if you attack them, and BBs can tank most of the torp damage (4k - torp protection) also their AA is no joke.
