My favorite "new" knife is my blue/black XM24. I don't actually "carry" it very much, but it's always the knife I reach for at home. Razor sharp and so comfortable in my XXL hands! Who cares if you feel the flipper tab a little bit!
@nickbezmaterny55673 жыл бұрын
I would do the same exact shit. That's why we have budget knives. My hinderer would have a microfiber cloth as a bed and she'd sleep most the day in my knife shrine.
@SkunkPunch733 жыл бұрын
To use or not to use that is the question! Hell we are under no pressure to do anything other than what makes us happy and gives us that strange but beautiful warm feeling inside that only a knife can give. Hope the doctor doesn’t read this lol 😘👍

Completely understandable. There's some knives that are just nice to have to enjoy, play with, and not necessarily use them, no matter how tough they're built. This is why I have doubles of some knives.
@TECHFIGHTER3 жыл бұрын
Incomprehensible. It's like buying a top of the line hammer drill and only take it out to look at it and lay with it but never drill into anything. Worse yet, after you're done you put it in a safe. Damn, these are tools not jewels.

I made a preorder for the fif20 earlier this week in full ti. Ode to MC. Seeing that version again and again on Philippe Jourget’s IG over and over again sold it to me despite being a frame lock design. Love me some titanium. Seeing those two Hinderers sitting side by side-yeah I know how you feel. 👍

I wonder about the correlation in knife preferences vs your physical size. If you are a very tall, or larger individual do you tend to prefer stronger feeling knives (ie thicker scales, longer handles and blades)? As a tall but stupidly skinny person, I have found over time that I greatly prefer the slimmest and lightest knives possible, because they “fit” better, don’t show in pockets as much, etc. I could never carry a Hinderer, the size and bulk just wouldn’t feel right at all. Luckily though, we have an infinite variety of knives to choose so we can all be happy. 😊

I've also settled into that knife size preference for carry. Usually has around a 3.5 in blade.

The love content man! Bought my first Hinderer this weekend. It’s the XM-18 3.5 Bowie. Hoping to find another Hinderer soon!
@seaferg50723 жыл бұрын
Weird Hinderer question. When closed, have you ever heard the blade click against the scales when it gets jostled? The blade on mine is centered and definitely not touching a scale. The action is good and lockup is solid. I know the blades on these high end knives tend to be really tight in between the scales but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced that click against the scales...

The new Kizer Lan gives me a lot of budget hinderer vibes. The frag micarta pattern and the compound grind on the blade, I’ll probably pick one up just to get a taste of this kind of knife

As much as I like the shape, I think I'd want a skinny version so I could realistically carry it (if I wanted to).
@tallica4life813 жыл бұрын
I’d be wanting the skinny xm24. Doesn’t that make it the same handle and blade stock thickness of a regular xm-18 3.5” then? I heard that or read that somewhere. Idk if that’s true and I don’t know how many times they have done a xm24 skinny.
@metal_complex3 жыл бұрын
Yes that's correct 👍

I’ve got a few knives that I don’t use and it’s mostly because they’re too big and feel uncomfortable in the pocket, also I’m from the UK and walking about with a hinderer in your pocket draws more attention than a bug out or para 3

Man I really like the Hinderer quality. I was researching doing Videos on KZbin and 50 thousand Subscribers nets about a 1000 bucks a month +/- and that would be a great Knife budget for me to grab a Strider or Troodon.. It takes loyalty and time to get 50k subscribers but a grand or so a Month is a nice Blow Budget lol.. great Video

Truthfully, ad revenue is different for every channel. The amount we get paid has nothing to do with the sub count. It's views and view time. On top of that, there are many, many other means of generating revenue beyond ads. Most of what you read about KZbin income online is wildly inaccurate and misleading. 😉

It kinda surprises me that you don't edc the XM-24 more often, from watching your other content. I'd would've thought you'd be all about carrying the 24.
@kraakvmaar15053 жыл бұрын
Xm 24 is definitely a bit more badass then the xm 18. Why is 7-8 ounces 5 inch closed lenght hard to carry? I dont get it. Smartphones with an ok screen also often weight around 6-7 ounces and are often longer.
@metal_complex3 жыл бұрын
It's too wide/thick of an object for that pocket. I already have to carry my wallet and phone. I'm just not willing to an object of this size to that trio when I can opt for something a little smaller. Like I said in the video, it's different for everyone. My phone and case weighs 4.2 oz
@kraakvmaar15053 жыл бұрын
@@metal_complex ah ok so you wear pants with only 2 pockets and the knife has to get in a smaller pocket with the small phone together or something like that I guess. Got ya! In case you start to develope some interest in edc some bigger knives I recommend to try out something like pme legend pants with more decent pocket options
@metal_complex3 жыл бұрын
No, I just wear regular pants. Usually jeans. Front left pocket gets the phone, front right gets the knife, rear left gets the wallet. I don't want more pockets to carry more. I just want to be able to go about my day comfortably with each item having its own space and not being too large by my own standards.

I sent mine back. The blade to handle ratio on this knife is horrible and makes it look bad IMO. All the XMs suffer from this a little bit due to pivot placement. Some blade shapes are better at hiding it than others. The wider blades seem to make the ratio look much better. Love my Hinderers but just couldn't handle the 24s looks for the $$. Also will be the last time I do business with KnifeCenter!! (Not because of the knife.)
