Direk Buddy, crop growth in different soil types vary. Lowland soil used for growing rice is clay, sometimes the expanding type. It cracks when drained which can damage roots thereby affecting crop growth. Nutrient absorption is also difficult because they are held by clay particles. Higher root pressure is needed to extract nutrients or fertilizer materials from this type of soil. Rice plants have structures and adaptive mechanisms that allow growth in clay type soils. More friable soils with better aeration and drainage like those in the uplands are more suitable for upland crops like vegetables. Soil analysis may help determine nutrient level and composition, pH and other factors present in a given area to explain plant growth, among others. Congratulations to this resource person. hi sir buddy!
