Personally I try never to mix Hindi with other English and other languages.. I know almost everyone does it, but I don't. I also try to avoid using words of Arabic, Persian and Turkic origin whenever possible. Some cases it's not possible, so that's okay, but in general I avoid mixing. For example, I hear Hindi speakers using English equivalents for very basic words like "time"... I am like seriously why? Hindi is a rich and beautiful language and has its own vocabulary; so I honor the lovely language by always trying to speak it purely. Too bad the young generation doesn't seem to feel the same way.
@HindiSumvaad4 ай бұрын
Thank you for dropping in your feedback :) Hindi, indeed, is very rich in itself. I really appreciate your views on trying to speak the pure form of a language.
@gothfather14 ай бұрын
@@HindiSumvaadthanks, respect you for sharing your language videos. Many foreigners have tried to conquer and subjugate India and wipe out the local culture and languages and replace it with their own (Delhi Sultanate, Afghans, Mughals, British, French, Portuguese and others), which honestly should never have happened. So I think some amount of "foreign absorption" is inevitable, not only related to language but other aspects as well. However, I feel it's important to at least attempt to keep it pure whenever possible. Just because it's "foreign" does not automatically equate to "superior".

I thought Yaar aand bhai were formal since they are extensively used in hindi movies : Yaaron Yaarana , bhaiyon aur Behainon what are formal words ??
@HindiSumvaad6 ай бұрын
It's true that both the words are used a lot in Hindi shows and movies but 'yaar' isn't used in formal settings.

when "yaar" is used as a noun in a sentence, it can often sound very poetic, but when it's used as a vocative, it's normally informal. something like "mera yaar kahaan hai" sounds very poetic and formal, while "tu kahaan hai, yaar" is very informal :)
