मैंने भी ये कथा पढ़ी है श्रीमद् भागवत पुराण, देवी भागवत पुराण और हरिवंश पुराण में इसका वर्णन आता है। बुध नपुंसक थे और उनका विवाह मनु जी की पुत्री इला से हुआ था जो श्राप के कारण कुछ समय के लिए पुरुष बन जाती थी और कुछ समय के लिए स्त्री। पुरुष रूप में वह राजा सुधुम्न थे और स्त्री रूप में वह इला। इन्हीं से चंद्रवंश आगे चला था, इन्हें के नाम पर आर्यवर्त को पहले इलावर्त कहते थे और पुरूरवा इनके पुत्र हुए। जिनसे आगे चलकर यदुवंश और कुरूवंश चला। उदाहरण के लिए हरिवंश पुराण अध्याय 10 में इसका वर्णन आता है।

That’s probably why Maharishi Dayananda was so anti Puranas in his outlook! Would be good if you can do one on the major differences you see between the Arya Samaj and the Sanatan viewpoints? I was recently handed a leaflet by an Arya samaji acharya entitled Hindus believe in one god. I label myself as an advaitist since I’ve spent most of life reading Adi Shankara texts and Upanishads. I was surprised that an issue I thought of importance to Christians and Muslims was now finding its way into Hindu discussions to become a topic to show similar thoughts equating Brahman of Upanishads with some character called god. To me this only makes the issue further confusing and dangerous for those unfamiliar with these ideas. For example, these days, Sikhs will say we believe in one god and our Gurus have taken this idea from Muslims, when clearly this is not the case. The ‘god’ in Adi Granth is all encompassing Brahman of Upanishads and not the vengeful violent character found in bible or Koran. So I think this is an important point for discussion at some point.

For all those against homosexuality in the guise of following dharma scripturs, you guys are being too dependent on the texts when you select only half of the texts that is convenient for you. Read about the types of marriages and even the history and origin of the marriage ceremony. People were fine before the concept of marriage was introduced and after that too because there were many types of marriages. And so the whole restrictions stuff was all made up after some sages threw tantrums and with it got more and more restrained with fancy words attached to it to justify it. I won't base my life on some human beings who were too attached to this whole material world and throwing new and new stuff in fit of emotions to satisfy their own egos. Man, woman etc are what? Bodies/vessels which are a part of maya in the end aren't they? Our whole dharma believe in spirituality/aatma which is highest no matter what school of thought you follow so why the society is so deadset on unnecessary rules and regulations based and created in this world of maya when we all want in the end is moksha? You guys are talking about marriage ceremony as start of grihastha jeevan. All couples who are commited to each other will follow those responsibilities even if they are not married. Regardless of whatever body they live in. Marriage ceremony should also be a private matter even for heterosexuals. But other legal rights etc that come after marriage should be equal for everyone. Just because you comprehend the idea of homosexuality doesn't mean it's wrong. Our wise ancestors would've been ashamed how much close mind and sheep mentality we have developed instead of actually seeking the truth and knowledge. It's really hypocritical if our dharma preaches about aatma and moksha but people are so hellbent on illusionary BS in the guise of following dharma but they force their views on others. You people are definitely not going to achieve moksha anytime soon especially in this lifetime and even after it until you realise the flaw in your views.
