Our outlook towards our life is determined by environment, past life tendencies. Family back ground etc ..In this material oriented life we are behind money, wealth, power and pleasure. If the Essence of spiritualism should come from within the environment should be a place which can stimulate our mind to stay in a spiritual realm. It is this which draws us towards the temple. Helping the unprivileged people should be our first priority and it is this which will be with us after death and it is this which will determine our next life. As it is our mind set is not tuned to look our life in this way. But certainly Temples can play a definite role in this context. Our Puranas is a mix of truths and myths and through that we learn what is morality. Just because it looks unscientific doesn't mean we have to discard it. It is that which gives life to spirituality.

Respectfully, temple is required to establish physical presence of your religion. Today, only hindu land over the planet has huge mosques and churches. That’s ok but Hinduism can’t be living only in the minds. Hindus have a very painful history with other religions. Having said that, purpose of life should be to help poor. So both can go hand in hand,

this is a mischaracterization of science; science never claims to have the last word, that would be to claim science is finished.
