@@ShreeshTripathi by the way mai bhi Ek Ambassador dund rahha hu. Ambassador 1800isz petrol 2011 onwards model, My dad had the Ambassador 73 model fully restored heavly modified in year 1999 but I sold it in 2002 . I regret it now. Pls tell anything available in your circle

Very good presentation Mr Shreesh . Can I order a few thermostat valves for Hurricane 2.2 and BMC 1500 engines ?

Same bmc 1500 is in this vehicle sir. But I suggest running without Thermostat valve. Considering the age it's better to run without. Only matter is of few minutes of lesser fuel economy till engine attains operation temperature. If valve fails it may lead to overheat and subsequent engine damage.

@@ShreeshTripathi good evening Mr Shreesh. Yes it's the same BMC 1500 from 70s . Thanks for the feedback . I am running without thermostats . It's difficult in traffic / hot day. The otherwise perfectly running engines , stall in traffic if for too long . Experts say I need to put valves to regulate temperatures . Miliage wise the hurricane returns near about 9.5 km / ltrs on open road , and the BMC approx 12 kms / ltr

Stalling in traffic has got nothing to do with temperatures sir. You need to make sure correct point gap is there also that the idle carburetor circuit is clean and working perfectly. You may read about your carburetor more and make suitable adjustments. Thermostat regulates temperature only when cold once engine is hot Thermostat has got no work. I'm not sure why someone suggested you for Thermostat considering your issue. Trust me you can try that, let me tell you 100% it's not going to make any positive difference in your current situation.
