Mr. Stewart, can you name the group members and musicians present for this concert?

Kenny Hinson, Bo Hinson, Yvonne Hinson Johnson, and Ronnie Hinson. The band is Rodney Leshun on piano, Kerry Huckaby on bass, Tracy Preston Richardson on drums, Kelly Back on guitar, and Scott Sanders on pedal steel.

Huckaba. John Kerry Huckaba. Thanks to Donnie Lewis I had the chance to see Kerry again about a year before CoVid took his life. I’ll share this link with his wife. Thank you for posting. God Bless.

It was literally just a few days before. I can't really explain it, but I could sense some tenseness among them during the load-in and load-out. When they made that shocking announcement about a week later, it suddenly made sense as to why I felt that unease before and after that performance.

@@stevestewart4968 Thank you. Has it really ever been explained why they abruptly quit? They were still on top it was definitely a blow to the SG industry,

@@illinoisgospelfan650 I can only tell you what I was told by a reliable source. I CANNOT say that this is true, but given the state of the industry at that time, it sounds very accurate. I was told that they were beginning to struggle financially and toward the end, Kenny was paying the (5 piece) band out of his own pocket. This makes sense. You may remember that in the 70s/80s, everybody had a full stage band, but in the early 90's nearly every group began ditching stage bands and instead went to canned music. The price of diesel, tires, etc, was basically killing southern gospel music. I think the Kingsmen and McGruders (and maybe Gold City?) were the last groups to have a band up until the mid/late 90s.

@@stevestewart4968 Thanks! Makes sense. Also, it's very public knowledge by now that the record company and publisher that produced their records and published their songs was less than generous to their flagship artist, The Hinsons. The money the Hinsons brought in was likely a fortune that they were never able to share in. Even as recently as 2017 Ronny Hinson unsuccessfully sued to recover losses for song royalties he was owed but never received. Sad ending for these gospel legends.

@@stevestewart4968 You are exactly right- by that time Southern Gospel just didn't pay to carry a band and they had been traveling full time over 20 years by this time. Thanks so much for uploading this! This is what I love about KZbin!
