The Hinsons are my all time favorite group. I have been listening to them as long as i can remember. Got to see them in concert several times. Great memories! had the priviledge of having Ronnie come and minister to us at our home church when my late husband was pastoring. He blessed us so much with his singing and preaching. He even came to our house after the service for a meal. Could not believe that he was there right in my own home. What a blessing.

I remember when I was growing up, watching them on the old Gospel Singin Jubilee, and got to see them in person at the old Collseum in Houston.I think he was probably one of the reasons I sing gospel music today.I think he has so much of an impact with that voice, then and now, and in the future,is because he stayed true to his faith, and turned down the world, which we all know he could've had. You can't be THAT BLESSED,and be known as he is without keeping true to God.Should be a lesson to all

I dont think there is a Group that has ever risen to their stature and maintained their integrity the way The Hinsons did I sang 41 years with the same group and Hinsons were my favorites. They lived offstage what they sang about onstage. I still remember when Kenny first got cancer and they went off road for a couple of years until his cancer was in remission. Kenny still preached those years and I MEAN PREACHED and then they decided they would do one more tour called their hallelujah tour but when they decided to do it they all agreed that they would have to have freedom in the HOLY SPIRIT or they wouldnt do it and in the middle of that tour Kennys cancer came back only this time took his life but I for one will never ever forget what I consider to be THE GREATEST SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC TO step on the stage

Douglas Morrison when I was a teenager growing up this was the only group I knew. sadly I don't attend church now

I have that video, but I've got to think there would be copyright issues if anyone tried to post it here. That was actually home video, but it was distributed by their record company. My understanding is that the record company in question is no longer in business, but that the video is still a copyrighted work.

For me it's a tossup between the Hinsons and the Goodmens. Both Kenny and Rusty were the sharpest guys in SGM and they are missed....
