I don't how you're doing... I use the same comp but IA of the game destroy me no matter what i do. Almost 75% of the Time, it pop a pumpkin Guy or/and Pyro + spiders just in front of boss and all my footmen disapear in 1sec + the beginning of the game is VERY different of yours, and i'm OBLIGED to spend 6 gold to counter 6 of him and prevent him to get a chest

similar situation. most likely that in the next patches (after this video) the enemy has become stronger (smarter)
