I have a feeling that there's something not right with some of the numbers in your accuracy calculation spreadsheet (I assume you made a spreadsheet). For instance, at 11:37, your DC volts spreadsheet, in the 100mV range, the measurement is 100.01mV (your measurement at 8:20 shows 100.04mV, so that's also an error). If at 100.0120mV, the specified error is 0,025% (of reading) +5digits, that's 100.0120mV*0.00025=0.025003mV (within resolution this is 0.03mV)+5digits=0.08mV. So low bound is 100.01mV-0.08mV=99.93mV and high bound is 100.01mV+0.08mV=100.09mV Am I correct? Obviously I'm not gonna check all your values in all your video's, but this might be something for you to check, to see if your spreadsheet is correct.

Thanks so much for finding the error. I have updated the written review on github and OneDrive. I had used the wrong accuracy values in the uncertainty formula for the 100, 250 and 500 mV readings. The new values are: Reading Accuracy Uncertainty Low Bound High Bound 100.01 0.025%±5 0.0750 99.93 100.09 250.02 0.025%±5 0.1125 249.89 250.14 500.05 0.025%±5 0.1750 499.83 500.22 The measurement at 8:20 showing 100.04mV is the live on camera measurement, not the test bench measurement in the written review that the table at 11:37 is generated from. The written review are always done before the video.

I'm really quite happy that you ultimately decided to review this meter despite not being third party safety tested. And better yet, that you'll be keeping it! For quite a long time I've been undecided on what I'll upgrade my generic $30 meter from Amazon with. I value your reviews and seeing the Hioki get your stamp of approval has really swayed me in this direction. I will say though that the included leads look a little disappointing. Hioki has a newer set of leads called the L9300 which comes included with their newer DT4261 meter. They appear to be much better leads in that they look more flexible and have attached sliding guards. It would be nice if Hioki included these leads with the DT4282 as well. If you're curious, you can see these leads in action in a KZbin video titled "[ENG SUB]How to Use HIOKI DT4261 TRMS Digital Multimeter- A Tutorial & Review (Part 3/3)" starting at 6:54. Thanks for the review! It was enjoyable to watch and listen to your thoughts on the meter.

I've been using the DT4282 since 2018, and it has worked perfectly up until now. In my experience, it's the best DMM I've ever had.

@@baricdondarion6228 Sure, nothing changed in 1-2 months :) Although I bought probemasters probes, I don't like wire quality of original probes, they are too stiff, but it is minor thing.

Hi Tom! I'm glade you've finally agreed to buy hioki one. I've risked my self too about a year ago and bought this one and absolutely love it! Thanks for your reviews!

Great review! I have the DT4282 and IMHO its a great meter.

Nice review, however the thermal couple was not included in my purchase of the 4282. I had to buy it at an additional 40 bucks. I ordered it directly from Japan.

They have it on Ebay from japanese sellers for like 360. I suspect the price is alot cheaper in japan than what they sell them for here from official distributors.

Your channel is one of most accurate that I have seen, compliment. I would be happy if someday you could do a review of some other UNIT-T multimeter such as a UT-71 or UT-171

The UNI-T UT71 series(A-E) is ABSOLUTE garbage. Don’t even bother. Bought one new for $200, sold it for $70 after playing with it for a bit.

Sir, your explanations are easy to follow. I love them! Please do some hobby circuits or electronics projects. My 18yo daughter is high functioning autistic (Formerly know as Asperger’s) and has shown an interest in electronics. I feel she would welcome instruction from you and this format. It’s not easy being a society outsider but she handles it as good as anyone. Electronics might be a confidence builder for her. Cheers, Kd5eag

Thanks for the comprehensive test. Hopefully Hioki will update their 60000 count meters soon to support Bluetooth like their 6000 count DT4261.

Nice work. Hioki is loser for me- no bluetooth module ( FLUKE have IR3000, Keysight have U1177A, UNI-T have UT-D07A...), no bargraph, there is no possibility of adjustment in my country(only Japan), there are no instructions in Czech. This brand is as exotic as Yokogawa and Kyoritsu. There are no spare parts. And for Hioki: LPF can only be used on 600V & 1000V range, I am missing duty cycle and average (In some cases the filter function can substitute) and I do not know how useful 400 memory locations are.The user interface is slightly different to most other multimeters with min/max always active and a CLEAR to reset both min/max and peak without disabling them.
