This video and the country style videos are great. I find myself calling the new country music from artist like morgan wallen hickhop a mash up of country and hip hop. It’s all about the feel and the groove to make people dance

Cool playing and video but not sure about hip hop drums being mixed 'low'...imo the drums and vox are forefront in this genre.. but agree with 'less is more' and creating deep, repetitive grooves!

Thanks... I think you misunderstood What I was getting at: Yes - "the Low frequencies" and drums are so dominate in hip hop and the bass has to cut through the mix to stand out :) I didn't mean that the drums are mixed low in the overall mix :)

When I was in my early 20s a crusty old rocker approached me after a show my band had just played. Conversation went something like: Crusty "You're a pretty good bass player." Me "Thanks!" Crusty "But ye know... it's not how good you play, it's how good what you play is." Took me a good 20 years to grasp how hard he had roasted me. Less = more will catch up with YOU eventually too. Don't get me wrong, I still over play the shit out of my bass. But knowing when fewer notes / simpler bass lines will be vastly more powerful within a song context is priceless.
