Damn, I don't even know who Eagle was before I saw this video, but his run was one of the best I've seen in the tournament this year. I feel like he didn't miss a single beat and he has great energy. Also, about the whole routine thing 'needed' to win battles; I never understood it. For me, it takes the genuinity and the surprise out of the battle and more often than not it even makes me cringe a little. A lot of the times they seem forced and way too long. I really wonder where the preconceived notion you need one to win a battle came from? You Got Served or something? I don't know, in some instances they can be dope and surprisingly on point, but I just prefer natural creativity on the spot.. It's more spontaneous. Idk, I always liked Freestyle dance more than Choreo because to me it's more connected to the soul. I'm not saying you can't throw passion into a choreo here, don't get me wrong. That being said, when the routine is short and precise, and interwoven into the freestyle like in Eagle's round, it works a lot better. 4:16-4:23 was tight. I'm wondering what you guys think about the whole choreo thing :) peace!

I completely agree with everything youve said. I think it takes experience/wisdom for freestyles to know when is too much chorey and is taking the enviorment for the observes into other territory other than freestyling which I second, is more connected to the soul as it is you now in this moment. Diablo and stalamueter's combos are always too long IMO. I enjoy Icee and Naiko last years as they show experience through the actual demonstrated knowledge of just doing a little bit to add to the solo, not too much to change energy, just enough to add another element rather than a you got served scene haha.

Sosax won that first round, Eagle won the battle but not the war (diablo, Stalamurte routine) they pull out the routine card whenever they’re needing to ensure the win for a close battle. A clean routine will beat no routine unless it is very lopsided like greentech and slim boogie

whoever thinks diablo and stalamuerte didnt win this has to watch more dance battles second round was a draw at max first round was a clear win for stalamuerte so its either 2:0 or 2:1. I know you dont need a routine to win but to have one is always a plus if u really wanna win without having a routine u must win the round by far. And thats mostly not gonna happen at juste debout so pls dont compare it to fusion concept (and dont twist my words im not saying that fusion concept is trash im just saying that having a routine in juste debout is more important because its more team based than fusion concept)
