Songwriting credits were always tricky in a group. If Freddie and Brian were doing the bulk of the writing and all 4 were getting credit wouldn't that stir bad feeling as well? And how would Freddie feel if all 4 were getting credit for all the hits he alone was writing? This broke up more groups than anything else. The money and ego. Queen were very smart to stay together for 20 years.

They did put out Bohemian Rhapsody, they didn’t want to at first till Everett played it then it took off and spent 9 weeks at number 1. That’s 2 months

Seven seas of rhye Freddie was the composer and wrote the lyrics Had he not composed anything and Brian was the main composer it would be shared credits I was told 2nd middle 8th part of the solo You could just follow the melody keep it much the same I agree with Freddie if someone suggest/contribute it's not fair they share credits for the song

@@FortWorthFabian the problem with it is if you have wrote and composed something that another band member wouldn't have created it seems unfair for them to then recieve half the money and given equal credit for creating the song if they have only suggested a couple of words or slight change.. Brian had an idea for that section and Freddie liked it but made it clear it would be Brians choice if he wanted to do it that way it would still be Freddies song Brian made that choice he could have just used what Freddie had composed Freddies condition to carry on making albums included having shared credits for all songs they would receive credit and equal share of the money they have all admitted that this caused huge rows as they worked less collabaretly and fought to get their single released so they would get more money as freddie said these rows and conflicts helped them to a degree because it made you work harder.. but constant rows also can be damaging at this time he was diagnosed with Aids though they werent aware initially they had been told he had a liver condition or something he had already told them he wouldnt be touring anymore it was two years on them recording again but they agreed to it once that was in place they did actually work together more and it was more of a collabaration but Roger and Brian have since said they still have some issues over it at the time I think Freddie didn't want to stop working with them but was determined to make it as stress free as possible he had enough to deal with!

It was not to stange for Queen that one person should get the money in the band. You would have noticed that Freddie said, when he wrote a song, he had already worked out everyone's parts for them. This was the same with the others as well. They were like 4 independent songwriters writing songs for the same project. In Freddie's songs for example, he would even write Brian May's guitar solos, and he was quite good at writing great basslines as well. Roger was also very good with providing full demos of the songs he wanted to include. John was slightly more tricky because he did not sing, but Freddie worked very closely with him. As Brian noted with their last two albums, they worked together on everyone's songs. But usually it was like 4 solo projects being placed on one album. Queen were always a very hard working band, they added precision and detail to what they did. As you said Freddie was a genius as a composer. I don't think Queen needed media training, the press just disliked them. There is this idea in rock that it has to simple and fun, or it has to meaningful. A lot critics hated Queen for what they called overproduced and over complex theatrical music, and some of it wasn't always serious. I mean The Rolling Stone Magazine still hates Queen to this day. The press was much hard in those days, these days they rarely give bad reviews. A Day At the Races is actually a great album.

@@RoverWaters Yes, he did. It well known that he did. He often wrote parts for everyone on the piano, in his songs. That is basically what everyone did. He said it himself in this interview, that was shown in the documentary.

@@RoverWaters Brian is on a lot of social media it might be an idea to ask him This spoils the discussion Brian isnt always clear from one interview to the next He has explained both Some of Freddie songs 'he was very generous.. 'talking about giving him some freedom with solos But even if he composes it in stead of following what Freddie composed It still cant be too far from it Brian has also explained how Freddie would compose on piano he would then transfer it onto guitar He said Freddie composed all of ogre battle and crazy little thing on guitar Freddie also composed some riffs on guitar so if he wanted a solo a certain way he would be able to compose it on guitar even if it was simpler than something brian could do Brian has also said Freddie used to map out the guitar section.. It clearly wasnt the same for each song He implied that bo rap was the first solo he had done He has said he wrote part of the second middle 8th I think might be guitar solo seven seas So I would assume that Freddie had at least composed the previous solos or he would have mentioned them first Brian wasnt helping him because he couldn't do it Freddie was letting him because he liked doing it and it was fine if Freddie liked it Edit Freddie composed someone to love on piano and guitar Brian transferred it to fit on 12 string guitar later but it's still Freddie composition

​@@bluebell3720 My suggestion for you is to look more in what is a guitar RIFF and what a guitar SOLO is. It seems to me your understanding of the two is very poor. Also your understanding of how a top classic rock band works and the importance of guitar work and guitar solos is also very poor. Also you should understand that Freddie was really a beginner level at guitar. Sure Freddie created a few guitar RIFFS(some brilliant ones like in CLTCL and the one in Boh Rhap). which came from his brilliant musical mind, not hes guitar knowledge or skills. 1. Have you ever listened to "Ogre battle"? That song has some chord changes and multilayered guitars that only top professional guitarists on the planet could have pulled off. To say "Freddie composed ALL of ogre battle and crazy little thing on guitar" in reality translates to Freddie demoed the song in rough shape on guitar, by repeating a simple riff. But from a guitar riff to a guitar solo, to a whole recording of a song is a huge step. Freddie never wrote a guitar solo on any Queen songs, its a known FACT, not an opinion or supposition. Fun fact for you John and Roger did write and record whole songs on guitar complete with riffs, solos and licks.
