I lost my grandpa last September and when I hear this song, it takes me back to when he would tell me stories of his younger days and his time at Cal Fire as a firefighter and forestry equipment manager. He and I would talk about old cars, trucks, and tractors for hours. He was basically my dad growing up because when my dad walked out on me, my grandpa took me under his wing and raised me. My grandpa taught me everything about mechanics and about hard work. He passed away from heart issues last September. I will always love and miss you Vapa❤️🙏🏼🥺

Rip Naomi a True Legend Ashley and Wynonna are her daughters. I grew up on these ladies. Please do the last live performance of "Love can Build a Bridge". They performed at the Cma awards 2 weeks before her passing. She wrote it about a homeless man. It's an AMAZING song.

Naomi Judd (the mom RIP) played in the movie "Living Proof: The Hank Williams Jr Story" about Hank Williams Jr's life, and the accident that nearly killed him. It was a good movie. She had a small/brief part. It is still free on KZbin

Jamie O’Hara penned a masterpiece. The Judds polished and presented this song with a signature heart rendition. The vocals are gorgeous, producer Don Potter’s studio brilliance. But the lyrics….wow! The words of the chorus once again pierced my heart even after hearing this song since it first hit the charts in the mid-80s. I was in the NYC area and the tune brought tears to my eyes.❤

Naomi is momma Judd. her daughters are Wynona and Ashley. Wy and Naomi started singing together when Wynona was little. The three of them lived in a tiny house with no tv and very bare in furnishings. They were dirt poor. Music was something fun they did to entertain themselves. Naomi got a nursing license and got them in a better place. Wy wanted to sing, she had the powerful strong voice and Naomi was great at harmonizing and when executives heard them together immediately signed them. Ashley can sing too but she excelled in acting. Did many movies, double Jeopardy. Kiss the girls, etc. Naomi also wrote most of thier songs. You must hear their song "love can build a bridge" the official video is the best. Naomi wrote that incredible song too. Quite the writer/arranger

Naomi is the mother of Wynonna and Ashley. They are from Kentucky. They used to sing together on their front porch. Naomi thought her and 17 yr old Wynonna could make it big so off to Nashville they went.

My first introduction to country music was this song. Kids should want to know about the past. What they are trying to say is that common decency doesn't have to disappear, like bowing your heads to pray.

Back before Wynonna and Naomi started singing professionally Naomi was actually a nurse and while doing that job she contracted hepatitis C. But she didn't find out for awhile and then in the 1990's her and Wynonna had to stop touring as The Judds because Naomi was really sick and had been given only three years to live. Fortunately she made a quick recovery at that time that so they went back to touring. They did a farewell concert tour in 2011 and unfortunately they were supposed to start another farewell tour in September of this year.

Mama Judd ( Naomi on the right) and the girls ( Wynonna sings lead , Ashley is an actress who was not in the group) actually had a tough time scraping by until Mom and Wy took off as singers.

i never see that she had a tough time./ Naomi was a nurse.. so she was a single parent. Which, having been one, it's not as bad as its been painted. There's a LOT of freedom in parenting, when you're a single parent. There's nothing wrong with that independence. So i never understand why they say they came from nothing. The space of time they spent without modern accoutrements was normal for rural living, in the day. *shrugs*

The mother Naomi Judd was born and raised in the Eastern Kentucky city of Ashland. She was mother of Wynonna who sang lead. Her daughter Ashley was an actress. Despite all their success Naomi made it public that she suffered from the mental illness of severe depression. They became country singers in late 80's through 90's. If you can see the song and video of "Love Can Build a Bridge," it's one of the greatest. Naomi was a single mother, been divorced during their years of trying to make it big. I'm not good at telling stories. There's information on KZbin now that tell their history. It's very interesting.
