Hip Hop in Japan and China (a very short history lesson)

This lecture is meant for my students in EALC 110, and it supplements readings on hip hop, and will be followed with an in class (short) lecture and discussions of readings and an activity. This lecture does not cover Korea because we have an entire lecture just on Korea that will be the following week.

Hip Hop hit Shanghai in 1994 at the Broadway Club in the port are (DJ Herbie UK/DJ Jiggs Phillipines) - The club mainly played rap and Soul/dance.

it's longer than that. First chinese hip hop was chinese opera.
