Since no one mentioned it.... The twins are also the sons of Teedra Moses, the R&B Singer.. who actually raised them as a single mother during their teen years, particularly when they moved to MIAMI. The twins went to high school at Alonzo Morning HS where they met Rios Los who moved to Miami when he was 3. The 3 of them started Coast Contra. They chose the name because they didn't want to be identified as "Miami Rappers"... they later moved to LA where they met Eric Jamal who is originally from Philly!!

@@KazamaFury You are correct which is in almost every comment on every reactors reaction. Im just offering something a little less known. The group was born out of Miami and grew up in LA. Mother was the one who grinded with them. Listen to their interviews. Again, Rios was raised in Miami since 3. Although he went back to visit often. Just type in... "Coast Contra interview" and watch a few... If your are as interested as I was when I first learned about them.

I had to sub. I'm gonna enjoy watching the Coast Contra rabbit hole you're going to go down! Like you I grew up in the era of real rap, hip hop and lyricist. And three guys call out the trash that's around these days with no meaning or substance to their lyrics. The 15 minute freestyle on The Come Up Show with DJ Cosmic Kev is insane though. They go off on that one. And the "Fu Gee La Freestyle" are my two favorite but they're ALL bangers!

Never got to go to Hang Ten want old enough but we went to the UNITY shows they were amazing and not bad seeing the top 90's hip hop groups and artists from the east coast for $10-$20 bucks .was so good. one of the locations was in Bell Gardens east of LA and it was a ex bowling alley that ripped out all the inside and had a Boxing ring so that is where they did battles and saw RAE, Ghost Face, and ODB perfom it was an amazing night ! ODB came out in a boxing robe and shorts and killed it.

The Ciara joint was an opportunity for them to get some more national shine with an established artist. They didn't get to be "themselves" on that particular track and I don't think the track actually fit them. They are on a joint with Tobe Nwigwe that they fit on perfectly. These kats are the REAL deal current generation Emcees and you can tell they love Hip Hop and are students of the game. Check out all their other freestyles.
