So, you say you dont know much, and have been recently dropped in the country music pond... I respect and admire you for that.... now... let's help others ease into it.... two songs.. maybe, do a double where you do two songs in one reaction... start with, "This is Country Music, and We Do", by Brad Paisley, and then follow it up with "Songs About Me", by Trace Adkins. it will open minds as to what they should be looking for, I mean, listening for, when they listen to Country. PLEASE, do your listeners a service by doing what I said... You, and They, won't be disappointed.✌🏼🇨🇦

As someone who has lived in the Country my entire life...I can assure you we will survive. I know some old farmers that have not stepped into a grocery store for over a decade other than to get sugar, flour and salt...Everything else is grown or hunted. They are completely self sufficient. Its a beautiful thing.
@sandracox43413 ай бұрын
That's how my husband was raised. His grand parents raised him. They grew, and raised all the food they ate, except once every three months they would go to town to buy flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and a few other spices. They milked their own cows, raised chicken and hogs, had a large garden. His grandmother canned a lot of it for the winter when the garden would go dormant, and they ate fresh fruits and vegetables they grew all summer. It was a rare treat that they ate in a restaurant or bought anything else from the grocery store.

Ignore country girls at your own peril! My Mom grew up in a Kentucky mining town owned by the mining company. And yes, the town, the mine, the stores, the houses, and to the company's way of thinking the people there were "owned" by the company. The company found out they were wrong, eventually. Mom with a shotgun, rifle, or pistol is a force of nature. She can fish, hunt, cook, and raise a family in a more than equal facility to country boys. Dad was lucky to woo & win her heart, and I and my siblings are a testament to just how awesome the two of them were as a team. --Dan

Here it is 6:48pm and i have not eaten a thing yet today. My scheduled chores have not even begun yet today. I'll be finishing by tractor lights around midnight and up to start it all over again tomorrow morning at 5am. Life is different for us Country Folk. Community and family. While everyone could be self-reliant, band a bunch of said people together, and you can get even more done. Share workloads, get stuff done faster, free up some time for a little R&R to avoid fatigue/burnout, do it again the next day. I grew up on a farm and still live out in the sticks. Got a good rifle, 3 good shotguns (different sizes), a good revolver, a good bow, and a collection of good knives and other tools. And family and friends of the family all over the area. As long as someone's not causing trouble, we're all polite and helpful. Most of us keep a pair of chains in our truck, in case someone needs towed out of a ditch, and we've usually got no problem stopping to help someone change a tire, give them a jump, or give directions as needed. But, if someone's looking for trouble... Well, the place where the Dalton Gang was ended isn't too many towns over...
