As far as Kendrick touching on "mental health" in his music, he's always been a deep thinker and its always been reflected in his music. So going through the shutdown, finally going to therapy and confronting his issues, of course he's going to pour that into his artistry. That shouldn't be a criticism of him whatsoever; it's a sign of his growth & maturity. Unlike some of these other 30/40+ rappers talking about the same shit these 20 y/o's be talking about. Same reason why 4:44 was so great; it showed Jay on his fr grown man ish; reflecting the current state of his life. Not all about trying to still relive his "glory days". Edit: Does this guy have something against Kendrick??? Damn, he ain't tryna give him *no* typa credit, lol

Adriel was trying to make a good point but y'all weren't listening. His point basically reminds me of an old adage that says that, ''you spank your child with the right hand and pull him close for a hug with your left hand'' which Nas attempted to do in some of those records.

Good first EP. Just watched the replay. Good to see Coop back in hip hop discourse. However, Low said, "nyggaz know in the '90s, the Big 3 was Nas, Jay and Big," or something to that affect. We really need a convo about the revisionism these New York dudes, especially, try to engage in about that era. The Big 3 was Pac, Nas, Biggie, in no particular order. Jay-Z wasn't a thing until Biggie and 2Pac died. Why is it that so many keep trying to rewrite this history? 🤔🤔🤔

@@T2JUDGEMENTDAY-pd8enabsolutely. I mean, in '96 alone, a guy like Redman who dropped "Muddy Waters," as an east coast artist, was way ahead of Jay-Z. Jay was way down on the pecking order. 2Pac saying his name on the Makaveli album that year was basically a gift, because he exposed to an audience of millions who had no idea who he was, or knew anything about his music.

On J. Cole. even though I DO AGREE to an extent with Coop about Cole was gaslighting the whole mental health excuse. I would push back at it being because he was scared. J. Cole didn't want to burn any bridges, it's because of BUSINESS. Going at Dot despite him no longer part of TDE is still going at TDE to whom he invited Schoolboy Q & SZA to the Dreamville Fest. Not only that, he's on Metro's & Future's album. He knew that he never has any beef with anyone, but jumping out the window like that would create a domino effect that he doesn't want to get involved. So, he was willing to publicly take the L and deal with the BRIEF disappointment of the fans/listeners rather than cripple his bottom line by burning business connections. As we can now see, this rap beef is spreading like wildfire around Drake. J. Cole did not want to be at all in the middle of that because he wants to work with everyone still.

Me going back to A2HH is not happening ever. Low is real big in this space and I have no issue with him speaking his piece or taking the lead. We are actually a lot alike in the passion we have for this culture. Also, gives us time to build and grow - it was the first show, timing and rhythm with co-hosts takes time so be patient. We will scale that mountain.

@@Tre-ks6lv your all good fam. A lot has happened but the best way I can express this to you is like this: you reap what you sow for one. Second, you are truly a reflection of the 3-5 people you spend your time with and I wasn’t loving my light over there. Over here with Shawn, AG, Taj and my dear friend Andrew behind the scenes is a more appropriate reflection of me as a man and my goals in this space. I wish those guys much success but I’m happy to have finally found a home 🫡
