I have bad external rotation. I bet this is the reason for my knee valgus. I think I also have bad internal tibial rotation. My foot always wants to rotate out on the squat. It's so frustrating. Didn't realize this until I was having some lower back pain on the left side after a squat session.

Failed all four tests, even if I can walk and use stairs fine. It's just that for sitting, I must hold myself on any upper furniture in order not to fall on my back. I'm not even 30yo, but I haven't done any physical exercise for nearly 13 years, aside walking. Every other functional move is totally undoable for me. I'm not trying to be the next John Cena, but I don't want either to become bedridden for the rest of my life.

These tests are to show you where there might be room for improvement. So it may be time to start stretching those hips into flexion and internal rotation! We like the 90/90 stretch for rotation in the hips.

My mother has had both hips replaced - once she is "fully recovered" - should she be able to do these tests?

That will depend on your moms prior level of function/range of motion as well as functional mobility goals. If she is able to everything she needs to do without her hip stopping her, she is probably doing just fine!
