I add ice to the bladder and for me, the coolness on my low back is nice. I wish the Hot Laps had the hose release! I have the Hot Laps and really like it otherwise. I tried backpack style but my back got too hot, even with ice added. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for this review. I just picked up a new bike and didn't want a hydration pack on my upper back anymore. The 6 liter will do nicely i think for my rides. 👍👍

You can try to turn all hydration bladders upside down and suck out all the air in the bladder to get rid of that air volume.

BBQ sauce! Im so embarrassed that i have never thought of bringing bbw sauce. You never know when you might find yourself at a trail side bbq and beerfest. Best to be prepared. Thanks for the tech tip! Cheers

Hard to find any reviews on the seeker 6L, everything is ads for hot laps but it seems the seeker has more utility and ergonomics. Cheers and thanks for the comparison. 🤙🏼

Wicked good review, you have 100% helped me make up my mind on the option to chose. I'd like to offer you a tip to get more space from your bag, when ever I fill my Camelback bladder I always purge the excess air out your bladder easily has a 1/4 to 1/2 a litre in there that's better used for gear or water. Thanks dude.

Wow this is an eye-opener I suffer from back pain, this will help greatly. Another benefit would be lower centre of gravity 🙂

How to get rid of the air in the bladder - turn it up side down, suck the air through hoose, turn it back and put it inside, problem solved

Fucking hated my hip pack at Trestle Bike Park (Dakine 2L). Every jump medium and larger jumps I hit , the damn thing flying off my ass hitting my tire. Basically need suspenders or something.... SO SAD about this. Then to compensate I had to tighten it and it was fucking with my breathing and crunching my lower abdomen.... fucking ridiculous. Funniest thing I had to put it in the front when i had snacks and full..... like a real fanny which messed my ergonomics/breathing too a bit but atleast wasnt trying to make me crash when i juimp.... I'll be trying again today at Big Cedar here in DFW area, going to run it half full as well. Wish me luck. I'm going to ride my bottle prolly first and carry batteries in my mtb shorts zippers.

I have this same issue when using the hip pack, when hitting jumps & drops, the hip pack drops lower and lower starting to pull my pants down a bit and/or hitting the rear tire. I have to tighten it to the point where I'll start getting stomach aches after a few miles to avoid this. For general trail riding, its not an issue and i love the comfort compared to a backpack, but ive gone back to the back pack full time because of this flaw. I also found that I couldn't bunny hop as high with the weight down low on my lower back (though this could just be a lack of skill). Curious if you ever found a solution with the hip pack

Great review. Thank you. Two questions: 1. Does the 5l bag stay in place while riding, just like the Seeker (loaded with stuff)? 2. Can one fit a small/medium first aid kit in the 5l bag, and still have room for water and small stuff?
@DrJMTB

Looks like there is no padding for the front portion of your waist for the nylon waist strap, do you notice any pain after a few hours of riding and jump lines from the strap digging in? I'm torn between the USWE 2L and the Seeker for this reason.

Thank you for the video. In my opinion a backpack have 3-4 contact points with the body so a hip pack is not more ergonomic. The only avantatge is about back sweat and to be more minimalist in your routes.

I bought the Seeker directly from Dakine. It doesn't look like they're still having them in stock for some weird reason. The Hot Laps should be more readily available and is a great option as well.

Wow, I just looked for it and can't even find it on Dakine or any of the other major retailers. Virtually everyone had it before. I bought mine from REI shortly before I did this video. I actually have no idea why no-one has these. Mine is holding up great, but so is the wife's Hot Laps.
