How did I get to be a fan? I lived in Austin, and he lived in Austin, and he played all the time. Once I saw him play I was hooked.

I heard his version of Little Wing on the radio in the early 90's. At the time I was about 18 years old. It was the first time in my life I actually felt music....and not a single word is sung in that song. He's been my favorite artist ever since that first time I heard it. Something really special...ethereal... about SRV.

"Stevie was an endless, open channel that music just poured out of. He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played live onstage with him before want to quit."................Eric Clapton.

Stevie Ray. Hands down my favorite. True story: 1st visit to Austin my friends ask me what do i want to do. My response? I dont care as long as as i can see SRV's statue. Stevie always respected those who came before him and supported those who came after. If you get a chance, check out Tin Pan Alley with Johny Copeland.

I had heard about him but not until I watched Texas Flood, live at El mocambo... The rest of care of itself. A cursory glance would reveal that this man is a master of his craft, and more to the point, that instrument most people call a guitar.
