Hippies In West Cork, Ireland 1986

West Cork has an influx of hippies who have set up home there in search of an alternative way of life.
Husband and wife, Paul and Wanda Margrie, along with their son Benjamin are just one of the families opting for an alternative way of living in West Cork. Paul describes the draw of this alternative lifestyle.
People seem to come here almost by accident and once they get here, they just find that they like it and they end up staying.
Currently living in a mobile home, they have plans to build a house on the site which is situated off the road on the side of a hill.
"The local people think we’re crazy."
Paul describes how like-minded people have been drawn to the area.
Another resident who has been attracted by this rural way of life describes how the pace of life is different from city living.
It’s the pace of life that appeals to people here. People are tired of rushing around... In West Cork... there’s more time for people, more time for looking around you and seeing what’s actually going on.

West Cork the most richest people in Ireland vast county beautiful scenery spent a lot of time there, went to the famine graveyard in skriberbenn (I know I didn't spell that right) anyway amazing people lots of minihanes that's the sur name

Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? When you could buy a house and a country acre for 12'000 pounds now there is no chance of being allowed to live in a caravan in a field due to regulations, along with prosperity came the rat race I preferred the Ireland of the 70s now everyone is glued to their phones and soo politically correct its pathetic.
