Hippocrates was a Greek physician of the classical period who is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine. He is traditionally referred to as the "Father of Medicine" in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field, such as the use of prognosis and clinical observation, the systematic categorization of diseases, or the formulation of humoral theory. The Hippocratic school of medicine revolutionized ancient Greek medicine, establishing it as a discipline distinct from other fields with which it had traditionally been associated, thus establishing medicine as a profession.

That's a great quote,30 years ago my workmate, after working with him for 20 years, suddenly didn't turn in for work,he had incurable Bowel cancer, but he carried on working until the last few weeks of his life, nobody, apart from his family, never knew this and I was devastated when I knew this, but I greatly admired his spirit ✨

God's spirit quicken our mortal body & his spirit gives life. Disease is an attack on our flesh to mock God, but on realising that one can endure with prayer to resist it. We are spirit-filled children of God. Somehow your friend knew it & never told even his family but you. Be glad & courageous that he told you, there is a reason. May God strengthen you.

Sean Knapton: How sad! What did he do as unfortunate acts, according to these Hippocratic words of wisdom? Or what were unfortunate circumstances, or what did other s do /not do to(wards) him? I'm really interested. Maybe his Dr didn't know about healing/working one's mental + emotional habits and healing feelings. Did he have too much inner stress? An older cousin of mine died of Colon Cancer at a pretty young age, around 62. He was hard to get in touch with as a sensitive young woman with considerable psycho-somatic disease and longing for contact. I have been studying natural medicine for many years now, and would have loved to help him get well or better, all I could. But he was not open to other than mainstream, and I probably haven't come off as someone reliable to a simpler mind, being stuck in illness for long. We mostly don't think very well and deeply: Someone ill can be hindered by outside stressors, by maltreatment, by wrong /missing examination, by practitioners not having enough knowledge and wisdom for a complex case in someone so sensitive with Aspergers. The cousin opened up emotionally during his illness though, and eventually I got some good, intimate, meaningful, perswonal converstaions with him, as I had wished. I gave support and interest, it was new to him. His openness and vulnerability were beautiful, he was like a different man. There was some unhealed old wounds, maybe even trauma. And wrong lifestyle. ' have liked to know him better, Was proud to get him to dance on his brother's wedding as I was 17, because he NEVER danced. I wanted to save him, severely Co-dependent as I have been. - Take care, sorry for the ramble. I hope your mate had fun in life.

Today's "health" science is driven by study of genetics. All the latest and greatest new treatments are based in gene studies. Any doubt why an mRNA experimental treatment was chosen as "cure" for our latest disease outbreak? It was hardly an outbreak, though the experimental treatment may turn out to be a real killer. The jury may convene after 2025.

I have learned so much from in my life. I have been through 6 major surgeries and so many medical tests. Don't tell what you are suffering from medically because most people will not care. They lack empathy. Keep all this to yourself. If you have some very very close friends that u can disclose all this and know that they will really feel bad for u genuinely, then please do. You need to gage this. I usually spend my times by myself and doing my music because that is what gives me peace.

Including total left knee, total right hip. Surgery on my right thumb, multiple knee and shoulder surgeries. I'm scheduled to get a morphine pain pump installed in my back 10 days from now. But heck, so what? You don't have to look very far to see someone much worse off than yourself. I'm still ambulatory. I'm 71 and still working. I'm grateful for my many blessings. I also like that one about opportunity, contrary to the belief that you only get one opportunity so it's like if you missed that one, you'll never get another, which can sound so depressing. But as I live and learn I also believe what Hippocrates said about opportunity is always in time. That means on a daily. That means you should wake up each day, to see what opportunity you can find in that day. With that other belief it's no wonder there are so many homeless, and despondent ppl on the streets, some former doctors and lawyers probably believing in that missed opportunity theory, and losing their fight. Though I know there are other reasons they are down, and out, this too, could be a reason. Good day.

Speak about illness (negative attracks negative) but if you speak about health(positive brings positive). The mind needs to fool the body or the illness as nothing is going on to make it become there is nothing going on and heal from the mind. A part of it is the mind

Hippocrates was spot on about diseases starting in the gut. You won't hear that from doctors today even with the burgeoning evidence - because there is no money to be made in dietary advice. He was not correct about the heart not thinking or understanding though. There is a neural network surrounding the heart that is basically a different kind of brain. This was only discovered fairly recently, and there is a good chance other organs have a similar arrangement.

As they say, a healthy body has a healthy spirit! One writer, a genius of literature, whose novel has already been made into a movie, said that the main thing in life is health, and he is absolutely right. With poor health, you cannot dream of having children or happiness in your personal life. Poor health leads to depression and despair. Recently, so many medical mistakes have been made that few people fulfill the ancient commandment to do no harm. The best medicine for a person is a human being. There is a pharmacy inside each of us. We just do not know how to use it correctly, as well as we cannot listen to our intuition, which could save us from many troubles.

Guilt and unforgiveness can have a huge determental affect on our health. Dealing with that is the start of the healing process. Diagnose the present. Stress, worry or bad eating habits need to addressed. Foretell the future. Bad habits need to be addressed, both emotionally and physically, otherwise XYZ will happen in the future.
