Reggie, it's good to see you are alive and your spirit is not broken! For those of you who do not know, Reggie is a survivor of Robert Mugabe's "Operation Murambatsvina" in 2005. His home, along with the homes of thousands of others, was bulldozed---and yet here he is, still singing and playing his mbira. Reggie is a tribute to the courage of the human spirit. If you happen to read this Reggie, contact me. I am Ron from New Mexico---we jammed on guitars when you were here.

I think the way they play this is very unique, it brings them such joy and excitement when they play. Its almost like it brings their culture together.

There is no height to which we cannot climb by using the active intelligence of our own minds. Mind creates, and as much as we desire in Nature we can have through the creation of our own minds.

@bwtwomey when they make these instruments they put "rattles" on the shells filled with dry beans or rice. That's how the "brush" sound is produce. Every note they hit vibrates the shell.

it's Shona he's talking about how he went overseas to study so that the can make more and support his family better. He meant to return next year so he can marry his girl. While studying and working abroad, he'd send his girl money, but as he neared completion of his studies, the letters from her were no longer coming. He then found out that she'd married his friend.
