Yoichi (1st OFA user), brought up point that he could have easily been killed as being the enemies' brother. But 2nd user took enough time to stop before just shooting to look in his eyes and reach out to him. Thus, he helped begin the cycle of OFA, with that first act of reaching out. That theme of reaching out to people (like Deku does in the OP) is consistent.

​@@sirmel11 Like the other person said, even if Shigaraki won't be redeemed, the important thing is to offer. What separates heroes and villains is that heroes offer the chance of redemption. The Bible has an interesting story about love. An old woman had two sons that were married, and both of their sons died one day. She told her daughters in law to leave her and go back to their families since she didn't have anything she could offer them. One of them did just that, but the other one, named Ruth, refused and decided to stay with the old woman. She said that she could not love the woman if she was only interested in what the woman offered her. The point of the story is to show that love isn't love if you're expecting something out of it. Anyone can love *because* but loving *in spite of* is where true love is. Similarly, only offering to help a villain when you feel like they would accept is pointless. You might as well just force them to accept. The mark of a hero is offering even if they don't think it'll work.

So yeah, remember how Spinner's backstory talked about how there are people who hate on heteromorphs(people with quirks that make them look not human)? Yeah. The lady getting attacked at the beginning of this episode was one of them. It was a rainy day and people saw someone who didn't look 100% human, so they just assumed she was a villain and started attacking her. The crazy thing is, this isn't even the CRC. These are REGULAR civilians. The CRC goes to the extreme when they attack heteromorphs but that doesn't mean regular civilians don't also have some level of discrimination. Which says a lot about the society they live in. Even if the League goes a bit far with their violence, they are 100% right when they say the current system is flawed and needs to be changed. Maybe not completely destroyed, but definitely adjusted. Hawks brings up an interesting point in this episode. AFO needs a strong body to handle the quirk OFA. But he also needs Tomura's hatred. You'd think after having his brother stolen from him and failing to get his quirk back time and time again that he would hate the users of OFA. Especially All Might for what he did to him. Yet he keeps smiling and laughing as if he doesn't have a care in the world. Speaking of All For One, it seems like he's completely predicted how Izuku would act. That he would go out on his own, push past his limits and try to find him and Tomura quickly. Whilst also trying to put the escapees back in prison. Which is very dangerous. Izuku is tiring himself out in the search for AFO because he believes he has to. But he's playing right into AFO's hands. Lady Nagant has been introduced. A former hero/assassin trained by the Hero Safety Commission. Wow. The Hero Comission being super shady yet again. Who could've seen that coming? She has a quirk that lets her fire and curve bullets to hit her targets using her hair. A quick with range. And to avoid people escaping her range, All For One has also gifted her one of his own quirks, Air Walk. A sniper that can quickly change position and move through the air. Scary vibes.

I'm certain he collects similar quirks specifically so he can afford to give some to allies and still have like 10 similar ones. When you really think about it, the odds of two random people having the exact same quirk is very slim. But odds are much better if they're related. So I wouldn't put it past him to target a family that has air walk, and walk away with six copies of it. He wouldn't give away anything he needs. He outright admitted he never needed Search, which is pretty scary considering how useful it is.

@proganster I think this is more specific to OFA for stockpile power, which can affect lifespan. Not as much in general per say. The real issue with too many multiple quirks given we see typically is with having someone transition to having a nomu brain (unless medically modified, or special quirk type like OFA/AFO).

@Rae C well actually it's the fact that quirks are "normal" body functions, if your body is born with a quirk or without one you're gonna get some drawbacks. Like deku and even shigaraki needing to be up to snuff to accept those quirks, unlike AFO Whose quirk is to have multiple quirks. There's spoilers that strengthen my opinion that also includes AFO's broken ability and another character in the show. Even Dabi's body isn't 100% compatible with his body.

I never realized this until AFO meet with Nagant. She and Chisaki's height are normally average, but he was HUGE compared to them. It just tells you how the quirks have morphed his physique and anatomy so drastically!!

He's the same guy who kicked Twice to the curb after he was involved in an accident, thus sending him down a mental spiral that eventually resulted in his death. 6:35 I disagree, within the my villain academia arc Shigaraki demonstrated his skills as a competent tactician by not only surviving Gigantomachia’s (bodyguard to the most powerful villain in the series) attacks for a whole month but by also single handedly putting the Meta Liberation Army under his command after defeating ReDestro, an incredibly competent and powerful political figure with 100,000 loyal soldiers under his command. Shiggy throughout the entire arc demonstrated an aptitude in methodically adapting to enemy strategies in real time even referring to life of death combat as a “game”, taking the most optimized path to win a fight almost exactly like deku who’s also highly intelligent. All in all he’s not THE smartest in the series but he is incredibly intelligent.

Ehhhhh, I mean he didn't have to be incredibly intelligent to do either of those things. Sure, he outmaneuvered Gigantomachia, but he's literally dumb as rocks... and is a giant rock. Gigantomachia quite literally does not think unless told to think. As for the army, there wasn't much strategy involved in that battle. Shiggy was just stronger than ReDestro was and ReDestro basically put the army under him. The soldiers would not have gone under Shiggy had ReDestro not decided to put them under him. Shigaraki didn't have to do anything in that arc aside from showing people that he was powerful enough to do what he said he wanted to do (Destroy everything). At the end of the day he isn't that intelligent. Case in point, he tried to turn Bakugou simply thinking that because he was angry all the time he wanted to be a villain. The only thing he's really done that was considered 'intelligent' is sending Toga and Twice in undercover with the Yakuza and not making a move until the whole situation was over... which is honestly just common sense more than it is intelligence. He couldn't deal with Overhaul so its just better to let someone else deal with him lol. Obviously Shigaraki isn't the dumbest char in the show by far but like, he's not exactly up there with intelligence either.

@@PK_Nate Intelligence: the ability to apply knowledge and skills Shigaraki has time and time again displayed his ability to process the information around him and adapt on the fly even when hindered. I feel as though calling Gigantomachia “just a rock” is a massive understatement given that he’s all for one’s (THE most powerful character in the series) bodyguard and is adorned with multiple potent quirks that shiggy would have to learn and adapt to on the fly (which he did). Giga in my opinion isn’t dumb but dogmatically loyal to whoever he serves. He also isn’t bound by commands since he can act entirely independently when in combat, that’s like saying elite soldiers are dumb as rocks for simply following orders. Throughout the fight it’s said that for a month TLV slept in shifts all except for shigaraki which implies that for a MONTH straight he was adapting and escaping Gigas arsenal of powers. I can’t stress enough how long a month without sleep is, after 11 days people are practically catatonic yet Shiggy function relatively well under the circumstance! As for Shiggy not having a strategy or methodical approach when confronting the MLA I think that’s just verifiably wrong. Functioning on absolutely no sleep for a month, practically intellectually nerfed, his first course of action is to lure Giga to Deika city as a means of diversion so his group can slip under the “smokescreen” which again is a prime example of strategy. Shigaraki again demonstrates his aptitude for planning and USING AND APPLYING THE INFO LEARNED when assaulting Detnerat Tower. He utilizes Twice’s ability to not only create a diversion for ReDestro but to stall him long enough for him to close the gap and destroy The Meta Liberation Army’s headquarters. Once again during his fight with ReDestro, although battered, bloodied and running on no sleep he’s quoted as saying “If I destroy it before the end of your swing, then it’s nothing much, you’re just big”. This demonstrates that shigaraki not only learned the functionality of ReDestros quirk but figured out a way to counter his whole move set WITHIN 5 minutes of fighting him, if that’s not a prime example of intelligence on display I don’t know what is! I’ll give you the point that Shigaraki didn’t just talk-no-jutsu 110,000 people into following him but he did show an aptitude for leadership in his appointment of his PLF lieutenants, assigning each TLV member to an appropriate role suited to their quirks ie: Toga being assigned to “Carmine” regiment dealing in espionage and intelligence for her ability to steal identities, Dabi being assigned to “Violet” dealing in Guerilla warfare for his pure combat ability etc. My point is that restructuring a former enemy military and assigning roles to members based on strengths and weaknesses further optimizing combat effectiveness are traits of a skilled leader and tactician. I feel it unfair to reference his attempts to recruit bakugo given his complete lack of experience at the beginning of the series especially since he’s grown and evolved (the underlying theme of MHA) to be the most formidable enemy in the series as far as the manga goes. Again in regards to how he handled the Chisaki group I feel like you’re greatly undermining the feats demonstrated by labeling them as “common sense” which they’re not, although with hindsight being 20/20 they might seem that way. Shigaraki under the guise of capitulation gathered intel on the structure of overhaul’s organization and quirk erasing bullet operations/motive all while planting Toga and twice under Overhauls leadership to gather intel. Subverting a significantly more powerful opponent by drawing attention to them and allow someone bigger (the heros) to handle the situation is another good example of utilizing strategy. Shigaraki recognized the power difference along with his shortcomings and instead of arrogantly running head first into Overhaul which would have very likely killed him he instead played both sides and waited patiently for his time to strike which is by definition cunning. [Manga spoilers] In his fight with star and stripe (The most powerful hero in the west possessing a god level quirk: New World Order) he on multiple occasions is almost killed yet adapts on the fly to her attacks for example using the momentum of her nuclear javelin to push him close enough to the ground to tunnel his way to safety outside of the javelins blast range. On top of that he deduced that although her quirk can change the functionality of anything she touches it functions almost like a barometer in the sense that there a limit to how powerful she can make any given thing or person. This demonstrates how Shiggy once again not only has the introspection to recognize his own weaknesses but the prowess to recognize his enemies’ as well all while being burnt to a crisp. Combat intelligence aside Shiggy’s own personal ideals, although they haven’t changed from his core ideals of destruction, have evolved towards the destruction of the status quo, a system that doesn’t serves those who deviate; Those who are deemed too different. From his perspective he recognizes how rotten the current state of affairs are and that in order for meaningful change to happen the system itself must be dismantled so that a new one can be established. Shigaraki went from showing a blatant disregard for his allies and shallow morals of petty wanton destruction to someone who values those by his side (as quoted by him in the MLA arc: “I don’t kill my friends” and explaining how he’ll create a better world for them) and uses his power to enact meaningful (all be it negative) change to his environment. He even recognizes the grooming tactics of All for One towards the more recent chapters. [End of Manga Spoilers] All of this information demonstrates how Shigaraki is a lethal, intelligent and formidable tactician!

Maybe AFO killed him after he transfed the quirk to the 2nd. It's hard to explain, but from what I know, everyone who has a quirk has a vestige. Their quirk factor contains a copy or back the soul with all the memories and personality up to their deaths. When AFO steals a quirk, he also steals this backup, but we don't see them revolt cause AFO effectively dominates them.

Certain quirks may be too complex for AFO to use like that to take years to hone in skill for use. As he didn't steal Best Jeanist quirk as one of these types. Likely Overhaul's quirk also falls into that category too. Mirio's quirk like this as well. Improper use could actually be a detriment to the user.

Lady Nagant’s Sniper Battle is among my favorites of MHA. Even though I know DARN well Deku is completely broken inside and is forcing himself forward on fumes, this is a fight I never bore of. I got some analysis as per usual. The return to the MVA scenes made me so happy because of scenes like that unsettling one of attacking the 8 foot fox girl. They all needed the full context of MVA. It really sets in the part of society that in a way justifies their will to destroy society. (Emphasis on in a way. Not every way.) This world isn’t as shiny as it appears. Endeavor having to deal with the backlash of the public is equally unsettling. I wanted to briefly bring up his press conference after admitting Dabi was his son. Whose bone headed idea was it to ANNOUNCE TO THE PUBLIC that the Families of UA High are evacuating TO THE SCHOOL?! That’s like saying to the villains “Here is where you’ll find the best hostages.” And it drives me insane to this day they just TELL THEM. For more than one reason, but we’ll leave it at that for now. Just…keep it in mind. Back to the scene of Endeavor worrying about Deku taking the burden of the public, I’ll say while it’s not direct, he’s DEFINITELY feeling it. It’s one of the bigger problems with being an empath. Distance and non direct emotions aren’t that helpful. It’s true the blame of the war doesn’t land on Deku, he knows DARN well he would be EQUALLY hated if the public found out that EVERYTHING in the war on the villain side was prepared to fight HIM SPECIFICALLY. I’ve talked to MANY Empaths since this arc occurred in the manga and regarding other fictional Empaths and even about me and others being Empaths. We all would’ve felt the blame anyway no matter where it went. And the fact it hits a teacher of his that he trusts and admires being Endeavor? There’s some HEAVY guilt there. And in the state he’s in? That’s ROUGH. Even more so people that are NOT shy of piling on the burden is the other holders of OFA demanding Deku put an end to a 200 year conflict. We FINALLY get confirmation why the 2nd and 3rd holder were holding out. Because they were not just from AFO’s strongest hold on the country, but apart of a rebellion AGAINST him. And the 2nd holder? It’s LEADER. To hear Deku wants to reach out and save Tenko Shimura? Had to be a slap to the face. And I LOVE that the 1st holder said, oh sure. Yet YOU reached out to me and STARTED OFA proper. And THAT gets them BOTH to come forward and basically offer their quirks right then and there. It’s ALL out. The vestiges are working in perfect tandem. Coaching his use, and literally EVERY second he fights he gets stronger. Not as fast as it’s GOING to get once he gets the prime, but I’ve said my piece why that’s impossible for now. Stockpile is still his greatest weapon. There would be no other quirks without the stockpile. This also covers a bit of the mystery of AFO NEEDING Shigaraki. And the hatred, and more. This is where I started looking into the limitations of AFO. How many quirks can he steal at once? How does his quirk work? Can he only give with one hand and take with the other? Regardless what his limitations are, Shigaraki or AFS surpasses whatever limitations he had. And considering what AFO used against Nana in the OVA…yeah, we haven’t seen JACK of what AFO can really do. Much like Deku, Shigaraki surpassing his master has a LOT to live up to. And then there’s Lady Nagant. Of course the Public Safety Commission had a designated individual before Hawks. He’s in his early 20’s isn’t he? Like 22? And since what we know what HAWKS has to do, you can only imagine what SHE has done. And we FINALLY have a villain in the same class as Stain. The hero trained villain type. Having a whole scene DEDICATED to gushing about how good she is with her quirk, how good the quirk is and only NOW finding out what Snipe’s quirk is in the anime. Her coming out under the cover of rain, being Endeavor’s, Best Jeanist’s, AND All-Might’s worst conditions to assist. (SPECTACULAR atmosphere by the way.) She makes her deal with the devil and gets a new quirk, and not just any quirk, the one that AFO uses to just unsettlingly look down on you. (Which is why he didn’t just walk off island Tartarus. GREAT detail.) And KNOWING even with OFA, Deku is meant to RUN from her. And she’s sniping a freaking KILOMETER away through BUILDINGS. The stage has been set for a TRULY awesome fight I love. She does NOT mess around. And yeah, yet another episode that reminds me just how much I love the Rogue arc. It’s SO good.

As a note, one of the lizard girl's issues was that she was a heteromorph, and this resulted in the shelters constantly denying her entry. Just one of many issues with hero society and something the sub... really doesn't highlight much.
