楽曲は”A～Z順に、ジャズ・スタンダードを4～5曲ずつ選曲”していく予定です。

ビリー･ホリディをはじめ数多くのプレイヤーによる名演奏のあるこの作品ですが､このベースとギターのDUO演奏は僕がこれまで聴いてきた中でのベストスリーに入るものでした｡ 　ズーム､ズームと心臓の鼓動のように響いてくるベースと軽やかなタッチが醸し出すメロディラインに思わず身体もスウィングしてしまいました｡ 　普段は夏の終わりから秋の初め頃の季節､それも日曜夜のシャワー上がりに､この曲を掛け窓を開け､そこから入ってくる風の心地よさを感じながらですが､今の季節にもブラジルなど少し酸味のある豆を挽いて淹れたコーヒーを飲みながら聴くのもよいですね｡ 　もしリクエストできるなら“When You're Smiling”を聴けたら嬉しいですね｡

I've listened to jazz all my life and the performances by this duo are amongst the best I've ever heard. Both solos show amazing lyricism, rhythm and melodic invention. Such a refreshing change from the tuneless shredding that we often get in contemporary jazz.

Love this standard - although I normally find it in C, which is where I play it. This is an excellent version - and without a shredding solo!

Hirofumi, you morph from the comping and solo styles I was searching for to practice my new brass wind synth controller, (the Freddie Green type of comping,) into what I would call Western Swing/Rockabilly, which I am also VERY fond of and play...but on a different instrument (table steel/dobro)! And Nobuyuki, you somehow provide rhythm kicks whilst keeping up a walking bass line. Way back in college jazz band, we called what all y'all do "tasty licks." I love it!
