I can see that, my question is : what happened with the old bassist?

His name is Tony Grey. He's a British dude who lives in the US. He and Hiromi stopped playing together around 2009. Since then he has been recording solo albums and collaborating with another artists.

@Alberto Bracamonte: No, you can't see from the old video that it is a new band, and it isn't :-) . The video was recorded in Yokohama on 27 November 2004. The musicians are Hiromi's first trio, with Tony Grey on bass and Martin Valihora on drums. This formation existed from 2003 to 2006 or thereabouts, becoming "Hiromi's SONICBLOOM" with the addition of David Fiuczynski on guitar in 2007 (or late 2006?). Sonicbloom existed until about 2010, though by that time David Fiuczynski was often replaced by John Shannon, and sometimes Mauricio Zottarelli or Jordan Perlson sat in for Martin Valihora on drums. Hiromi's second trio, "Hiromi: The Trio Project", which existed from 2011 to the spring of 2017, had Simon Phillips on drums and Anthony Jackson on contra bass guitar, with Steve Smith sitting in on drums when Phillips wasn't available. Sadly Anthony Jackson had a stroke in the summer of 2016, so for trio concerts from then until the spring of 2017 such luminaries as Tiago Coimbra, Jimmy Johnson or Hadrien Feraud took over on the bass. Tony Grey from the old trio is now 47 and still very active as a bass player and teacher, while Anthony Jackson from the newer trio -- fortunately he has recovered enough to give tuition though not to tour -- is 69 years old. What happened to the old bassist depends on which of them you mean.
