An actual villain acts evil since the beginning. The main difference is their method, both having same goals. That happens too with antiheroes and heroes, where the method is what changes.

That also kind of describes Eren tho. All throughout the series all he ever knew was defeat, humiliation, and suffering until he had enough and decided to turn against the entire world. This picture is almost like the embodiment of Eren’s rage that literally drove him to end the world. I’d say it’s still a fitting picture of Eren even though he’s not exactly like the devil.
