I don't get what kripp is on about. The opponent runs demonic project to counter combo decks. Because the opponent could still win with hero card and the various minions he plays.

The problem is he can't counter another combo deck without risking his own mecha'thun if he has it in his hand. Demonic project only works when mecha'thun isn't in your hand, so a lot of the time it's just a wasted card you can never risk playing.

Maybe he just uses the demonic project against combo decks, though that may ruin his combo, if he disrupts the opponents combo he just wins with guldan. But idk why he's not running cataclysm.

Disagree with Kripp here. You can play Demonic Project against Mecha'Thun Druid which is often faster than you and destroy their win condition and you can still win because you have a secondary win condition with Gul'dan and big demons unlike them.

Aloisio B.N. bloodbloom cataclysm were probably still in his deck. I think kripp shttalked him unfairily. Like og said, If you know enemy plays mecha'thun Deck like priest or Druid who are both faster, even sacrificing your own mecha'thun with demonic project can save you the game. You will still have the gul'dan stall, while your opponent has no deck and probably no second win condition on hand as well

Yeah, couldn't agree more. Got demonic project as a one of in my even MC lock. Not a liability at all because of cata and sometimes it even works against aggro decks by hitting their Leeroy or something like that. Especially because in aggro matchups there's no way you're getting the combo off, you're way better off turning a galvanizer into a potentially useful demon.

The question is not why he has a Demonic project in his hand but why he didn't use it after killing the Dreampetal florist... If he used it in this situation he would have won so I can understand why you would play this card. If you need to risk loosing your mecha'thun but breaking a lethal combo from opponent you better have this demonic project just in case even if it's a dead card in 80% of matches.

Nah, you keep one Demonic Project in for EXACTLY this kind of scenario. Whether its the Mechathun druid who's ahead of you in fatigue so you sacrifice your mechathun to snatch his mechathun, or doing the same thing to a guy's shudderwock then defiling his acolyte of pain, it comes in handy many, many times.

Probably just didn't think about the anti-synergy. Also, it would appear that his deck just has Mech'Thun as a back up win condition so Demonic Project on a combo piece would screw over his opponent a lot harder than it would himself. Still had Gul'dan and enough minions to be threatening.

I think that was deliberate, but I'm guessing one of the cards left in the deck you stole was a Hemet, Jungle Hunter, and the planned synergy would let him get rid of the Demonology Project without ever needing to draw it, though I don't think he thought through what would happen if he did draw both the Demonology Project and the Mecha'Thun

What's wrong with losing your Mecha'thun because of demonic project if you can counter faster Mecha'thun decks with it? It's obviously a dead card most of the time but it does help to win against some decks. Besides helping me win against other Mecha'thun decks it made some Malygos druids concede after losing combo pieces. I'm assuming you just didn't consider people running other versions of non-even Mecha'thun decks that might actually have other win conditions in this kind of games.

Demonic project makes a lot of sense in a mech'thun deck actually : the meta is combo heavy atm so you can easily fuck your opponent, and you're not forced to play it anyway as you can discard your whole hand. Brain before clickbait.

Am I the only one who thinks demonic project isn't as bad as Kripp says it is? As long as Mechathun is not in your hand it's fine to play. In a Fatigue deck your obvious counter is combo. Granted he should of definitely played it when he lost Mechathun, but it being in the deck doesn't mean he got pranked/does not play to win. Edit: It just hit me he doesn't have blood bloom or cataclysm. Ignore me. *Edit Edit: It's just a prank. Don't ignore me.
