I think everyone is loosing their regional accent due to social media. I'm from Massachusetts so I think it's a good thing. Every time I watch a Ben Affleck and Matt Damon movie I'm like "cheese and effing rice we don't actually sound like that do we!?" I do also think if your accent changes easily it's a sign of high cognitive function and your ability to adapt.
