I hope the Fulani leaders should try to preserve the rich cultural heritages beyond boundaries that our grand fathers left it for us. I’m so proud of Lamido Sanusi for spreading the tolerant and modern Islam and also his pro women rights instance.

I really wanted the HRH Sanusi to go into mainstream politics before he was crowned the Emir of Kano! I really appreciate his intellectual capacity in trying to change the mind set of the common Hausa man. But always trust the hooligans parading themselves as politicians in Nigeria, now trying to break Kano empire into bits. I'm not Hausa, but I love the fact the Hausa tradition remains part of our history to present day. Same as the Benin empire. I must stress that I am Yoruba, but am Nigerian first in all sense.

Great job. Remember, there is the need to know more on HAUSA history right from the relationship of Ethiopian cultures down to DALA settlers between HAUSA and OROMO/AMHARIC speakers. What happened during Arab-Hausa trade (ISLAM propagation to HAUSA land) and how the TSOHON-BIRNI, where old DAURA town originated became extinct? I believed the BRITISH library might have a copy of the book title "GIRGAM". Girgam was a HAUSA recorded historic book compiled by the then traditional rulers in AJAMI. It was filched by the then BRITISH monopolers in AFRICA around 200 years back. Good beginning! Wishing you excellent progress ahead...

How wonderful it is to see inside of this amazing Palace. One of the most prolific lies to be told is to say that Black people don't read - the truth is the first libraries existed within Africa I have come to learn that sadly many of those collections were destroyed by Europeans when they arrived on the continent. In an attempt to preserve many scrolls & books were kept in private libraries unfortunately many of these have become fragile. The plan to have this library preserved and catalogued is a great thing for people to be able to be able to appreciate.

Jazakumullah khaiyran for granting us access to the rich history of the Emir of Kano. One striking thing among others is the fact that Africans were literate before the coming of the English man. I am from the South West and I have encountered ‘ajami’ writings in my local dialect, in books that were far older than my Late father of blessed memory. A prove that was just substantiated by what you’ve just shown us. Many thanks indeed for your time and it gladdens my heart that his Royal Highness is a great man of caliber and timber, which such much knowledge secularly and islamically, ayadahu llah ta’la bi nasrihi al-AZEEZ-may the Almighty Allah continue to strengthen him, allahumma amin.

I knew the Emir was a well known economist but it is a great pleasure to hear him speaking English.
