@tevTV, what kind of device do you use ? To Discharge you're Capacitors ? Do you use a ground Clip, attached to wire, attached to a Resister, that attaches to Discharge metal Rod, that you simply touch to main, Capacitor.+ Positive Terminal ? For 5-10 seconds ?

Thank very mcuh for reply! I plugged in AC cable and checked DC voltage of AT24C04 IC which seems to be eeprom for this 29 inch LG CRT TV.I placed red probe to pin #8 of AT24C04 and black probe to pin #4.It measured 5.084Vdc regardless of clicking power switch.I also pressed channel button and other button on the remote controller But It won't make LG 29 inch CRT TV to display any screen at all...
@tevzTVTevatronics13 күн бұрын
try hang the eeprom
@bshi028813 күн бұрын
@@tevzTVTevatronics What is meaning of hang the eeprom? dose it means to replace AT24C04 IC with new IC?
@tevzTVTevatronics13 күн бұрын
@@bshi0288 just hang it and try it, if the tv turns on it? it means it is in standby mode. or it has an EEPROM program issue. Check if you have a remote try to remote it, but resolder back the EEPROM before you remote it.
@bshi028813 күн бұрын
@@tevzTVTevatronicsI resolderd all pin of EEPROM(AT24C04) on the bottom of PCB and I repeated to plug in AC cable and push power button on the remote and unplug AC cable, more than ten times. I noticed that whenever I push power button on the remote,DC voltage of B+ filter capacitor(160v 100uf) suddenly became 120Vdc and it gradually decreased until it reach 38Vdc.But Unfortunately, No matter how repeat plug in, push power button and plug off,It won't display any screen at all

A few days ago, I noticed that there is no faulty in the HOT area. So I doubted maybe there was loose contact on the pin of IC,Beacuse This CRT TV was manufactured over 25 years,So solder joint would not as tight as twenty five years ago. And it seems that weight of its PCB is about 2kg,I think that Whenever I deposited this heavy PCB on the floor,this would put pressure on the pin of IC.So there would be minor crack on its solder joint. I soldered all pin of LG8708-08A, GL3812,TB1231N and Turner TUSHB-A07A at the bottom of PCB, and It finally displayed screen! In fact, I have another CRT TV(LG slim 21fu1r-ns of 220 voltage) which was not able to display any screen.So I did IN CIRCUIT Testing all of capacitor with ESR meter. I found a capacitor which has no ESR and capacitance value at all, It was connected to horizontal coil(250v 1uf). So I replaced this capacitor and other capacitor which is located in the vicinty of FBT(250v 4.7uf) and in the vicinty of Vertical Deflection Booster(STV9326)(35V 100uf) which has somewhat higher ESR value,So I also replaced these capacitor,too. After replacing three capacitor,It finally succeeded to display a screen,But,the screen was very bright and It displayed lines across the screen . Worst of all, IT IS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL BRIGHTNESS with screen adjust potentiometer on the lower FBT... Besides I heard a weird static sound near CRT anode cap whenever I turn off this 21fu1r-ns CRT TV I really want to control brightness with screen adjust potentiometer on the lower FBT and get rid of weird static sound. I really very much appreciate you if there is workaround to repair these problem.

Why using the STR-W6000S so much? It seems a bit of a pain having to jerry-rig it. Is it a lot cheaper?
@tevzTVTevatronics21 күн бұрын
This TV is cheap, could you let me know what you want to replace it? a power supply that is more expensive than the tv?
@bshi028813 күн бұрын
I have 29 inch LG CRT TV which did not display any screen at all. When I plugged in its AC cable I measured DC voltage of B+ filter capacitor(160v 100uf), it measured 38Vdc with DMM. But as soon as I click power switch,It suddenly soared to 120v and gradually decreased until it reach 38Vdc. And I also measured pin #9 of STR-S6707 in the HOT area with analog meter and it also soared to 7.3-7.5 Vdc as soon as I click power switch, and gradually decreased until it reach 6.4Vdc. I purchased another STR-S6707 and replaced primary STR-S6707 with it by soldering but that would not fix this voltage decreasing problems.. Would you give me a clue What cause this symptom of decreasing voltage of B+ filter capacitor and VCC of switching ragulator?

Some power supply goes to a lower voltage when the system is in standby mode. try press the channel up or down or other power booton. Check also the 5 volts standby.

We can learn from our experiences and knowledge. Even Chimpanzees are capable of innovation. They can come up with new ways to solve problems, such as using a stick to reach termites out of a mound.
