It’s not right to use a character like that just so you can express your own selfish views(this goes for Captain Marvel, elderly Luke Skywalker, and Godzilla 1998 as well.) It’s more proper and logical to respect the intentions of that character’s writer(s) by handling him/her the way his/her writer(s) would intend for him/her. That one of cinema’s primary purposes: to respect the work of others. I hope this current period of cinematic dormancy gives Hollywood time to refine itself by embracing it’s better aspects (modern and past,) and doing away with it’s dark flaws.
