This story really caught me off guard. At first, I hated how Skarloey was “out of character,” until I realized this story was taking place when he and Rheneas were still young. Now I love it, and how we get a more in-depth view of what their early days were like. Great work as always!

At first, when I first watched this video, I thought Skarloey was being way out of character, but thankfully this takes place in his younger days so I think his character does make sense why he has a reason to be cross with Rhenase for trouble steaming, and while he hast to do the work all by himself

Judging by Edward and Emily being the only mainline engines we see and none of the other Skarloey engines, I assume this is set in Skarloey and Rheneas' early days. Still, ace story and quite a clever one. It would explain a little to how he can put up with engines like Sir Handel and Duncan.

Really enjoyed this! Well written, voiced and filmed! One thing I think is quirky is when you add the random shouts and screams when Skarloey derails at the bend. It almost sounds like they are coming from the passengers which brings a new angle of realism into the story. Was this the intention?

this is a different Universe from the main TV series supposed to be a mix of RWS and TV series so Emily it was probably on the railway when it was first built as for Peter Sam that's probably I think that's supposed to take place in modern-day kind of obvious considering that it's supposed to be a dreamlike sequence

You don't derail on switches lol you just break the switch.

Points can actually derail engines if they are dodgy or set against them.

@@daylightman8459 False. Poorly maintained track of any kind can cause a derail, but it has nothing to do with it being a switch. Also, points set against an engine will not derail it. The engine will either follow the track the wrong way, or if it's coming from the other side, the weight of the locomotive will physically force the points out of the way, keeping the engine on track. I was actually a conductor IRL, and one of the first things they taught us about switches was that running through them will NOT cause a derailment. The weight of the engine is wayyyyyy more than the pressure of the point springs.
