Les sources sont nombreuses et parfois contradictoire sur ces anciennes croyances, félicitation pour avoir réussi à les condenser. Certains panthéons d'anciennes divinités semblent à la fois si proches et si différents des uns et des autres. Ne continuons-nous pas d'une certaine manière à vénérer ces anciens dieux à travers les croyances folkloriques, certains saints et les fêtes liées aux saisons et aux cycles ?

C'est fort probable, le fait aussi de se tromper où de transformer les histoires maladroitement amplifie la modification de leurs origines, en d'autre terme, comme le téléphone arabe, un personnage peut se voir attribuer plusieurs descriptif ou légende en fonction de la personnes qui la raconter, ce qui rend la source plus mytique ou extraordinaire qu'elle est de base.
