Eh Bismarck and Preussen are both pretty decent to me as far as main gun accuracy goes. Maybe RNG just shines upon me idk.

@@maltemejlstrup4746 Bismarck and above have pretty broad range of RNG, but ther Bismarck is the only one that is not consistent. I have legit missed a perfect Broadside SAlvo on a Baltimore. ALL OF THE SHELLS missed. At 50km range, they went over the deck and short into the water, not a single hit. But i have also won a Sniper Duell at 20km vs a Zao that wouldn´t leave me alone. So the Range of RNG is quite big, but it behaves MOST of the time and does well. With the Bismarck everything is possible. It is not as bad as the Old Carolina tho, the new version is much better.

The vehicles in their games that did exist are actually Historically accurate. In all three games. The Art/Design Department is basically the only thing honest about WG.

Yamamoto never said that, or at least we have no evidence he ever said that. It was a line written for the end of the movie "Tora!Tora!Tora!" which depicted the begining of the Sino-American conflict in WW2. The writer behind the movie was even asked where he got the quote from and pretty much admited he made it up. It's a fantastic line, but it was never real.

Yamamoto's real quote was that he could run wild for 6 months but after that, there was no guarantee of success. True to his word, 6 months to Pearl Harbor was the Battle of Midway.

World of Tanks is not the most realistic tank game. It is quite arcadey. Maybe show him War Thunder instead. Btw, the Japanese Battleship Yamato is not named after Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto. It is named after the Emperor's Royal Family, the Yamato Clan.

The near-mythological aspect the Bismarck and the Yamato have taken on is hilarious. The Bismarck has one kill. One. And it was a fairly lucky shot.

"but the Bismarck and the Yamato were amazing!" The Bismark killed one singular ship with bad deck plating, before being beaten to a pulp by a british battlegroup *and* obsolete torpedo bombers. The Yamato didnt even get to shoot anything before it got ripped apart by several hundred bomber planes.

It’s Yamato. IJN Battleships does not named Battleship after Admirals. IJN Battleships named after their province or “State” in US Languages. Yamato has a name from Yamato Province. She is not Yamamoto. Historians should atleast makes the correct name. Yamato and Yamamoto are completely different meaning. Like how Americans call a Liquid, Gas. So a Background of this ship. Not much really, Yamato only knows for the World Largest Battleship in the world. Even till this day. No Nimitz Class is an Aircraft Carrier, No Oil Tanker is not a Battleship. Not every ship with a gun is automatically called “Battleship”. Dumbass Media. Anyway, Yamato, the world largest Battleship. She is the most heavily armed in terms of both armor and firepower. Those 9 46cm gun, AKA 18.1 inches for outdated people, is the largest gun ever put on a Ship. These Gun turrets have more overall weight than Fletcher Class Destroyers. She also has an armor up to 41cm at mid ship, AKA 16inches. Yamato sole design purpose is to be the Ultimate Super Battleship for IJN to face multiple Battleships at once. Although FDR might get a Bathtub for his Iowa. Yamato is a luxury Hotel for IJN. Not only food rations are very good on Yamato, she earned the nickname Hotel Yamato because how little actions she did during the war. As Japan fears to lose these 2 Super Weapons. Plus these ships consumed a lot of oil in the process. She only seen in the Battle twice. (Technically 3 if you count her as an HQ ship, in The Battle of Midway) Battle of the Philippine Seas and operation Ten-gō. Ten-gō is her final moment. Taking about 200 aircrafts to tore her apart within 2 hours. But she does proof as a force to be reckoned with. As her sister ship, Musashi takes ages to be sunk by Aircrafts. In theory she should able to pick a good fight up to 3 South Dakota Class Battleships.

I just can not believe how bad the players are that played those battles. Please, if are showing these games to an expert do not show them amateur gameplay, AND give them some context as to what the game is about. It is fine to let them guess the first clips, but explain to them how the games are played, so that they can comment on how realist it is, beyond just the historical setting.

Yeah it was a waste for this historian. So many comments about the historical setting or assumptions made on it being a historical battle. Somebody needed to have told him that the concept of the game, like teams for example and that the battle setting is not related to actual battles that those particular tanks/ships would've fought in.

Some of the clips in WoWs they've got here looks terrific, they aren't even bothered to angle their armor, going broadside, etc etc... I'd be mad seeing my dudes just doing these things and being useless the whole time.

as a world of tanks player myself i can say that the game apart from the tank models is not even close to being historically accurate. war thunder is ways closer to being historically accurate. and there arent any machine guns in world of tanks either apart from the lowest tiers of tanks with their small caliber rapid fire guns.
