Historic Australian Church Perched High on a Hill

St Pauls at Montacute in South Australia is a grand Church and chapel perched high on a hill. It is South Australia's highest church, standing on a hill over 400 m (1300 ft) high.
Come with me as I explore this 1880s gem and take in the views of the valleys around this incredible place amidst winter fog. The church opened in 1886 to quite a crowd but construction began in 1883. I also met a feathered friend, so come along and explore this incredible place, with me.

I did some research and apparently it was destroyed in a bushfire in 1955 and rebuilt. And apparently again in 1995 and 2001. Awesome find mate I love these old buildings

That tower has a fire siren on top of it and it looks like it could still be active. It's to alert residents that there is a fire in the area

Enjoyed the video! Man, this is such a beautiful spot and an awesome explore! Glad this church is preserved and it was pretty neat to see a wattle up close! I don't think that there are too many of these in the USA, especially in where we are from. Just subscribed and will be checking out more!

I might do a whole episode on them sometime as they are rarer I think in the US. In the USA I did see a lot of eucalyptus in LA and a little in Utah too. I was surprised by that aha. Apparently some Aussie business told the people in LA that Eucalyptus makes good wood. In reality it's okay but not wonderful to work with woodwork wise aha.

all churchs were built on hills for 2 main reason to avoid flooding and the help th3e bell toal further.
