HISTORIC GATED 1913 Otis/Asheville "Chimney" Elevators at the Omni Grove Park Inn, Asheville, NC

These are the AMAZING, EPIC, HISTORIC Otis Gated Elevators that had its fixtures replaced by Asheville Elevator at the HISTORIC Grove Park Inn located in Asheville, NC. These are Traction and literally located INSIDE the CHIMNEY!!!! That is why these are known as the the "Chimney Elevators"!!!! This place opened in 1913, and while the fixtures were replaced with GAL JetPlus by Asheville Elevator likely in the 1980s, these still have LOTS OF Historic Charm and are mostly original from 1913!!!! In addition, this place has VERY FRIRNDLY Elevator Operators, dressed as they would have been over 100 years ago!!!!!!! Overall, this is a TRULY AMAZING Hotel, with AMAZING Elevators. The bad news is, it's HILARIOUSLY, AND DESPICABLY EXPENSIVE!!! ($850 a NIGHT!!!!) But I sure enjoyed riding these, and exploring this AMAZING Hotel, and I sure hope these NEVER get automated/modernized!!!! With that being said, let's ride these!!!
And these are 105 YEARS OLD NOW!!!!
Installed: 1913 (Gated Otis, either wish small black push buttons or Manual Crank)
Modernized: Circa 1980s (Asheville Elevator, fixtures and call stations replaced with GAL JetPlus, controller may be upgraded if this was originally manual)

The photos and videos do not give this place justice. It's absolutely a tourist attraction in itself. Yes it's ridiculously pricey but after spending two nights here I wasn't as excited as expected to see the Biltmore for the first time. Best weekend since my first cruise. Will most definitely visit here again.

They also have a freight elevator for housekeeping. Maybe that explains why everyone who had material was using the one car.
