Historic Lawrenceburg, Indiana

How about a road trip along the scenic Ohio River? This segment covers the historic town of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, with its charming 1800’s buildings, and beautiful waterfront. Standing on the high-up levee, you can actually see three states: Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio! There are plenty of comfortable benches to soak in the serenity, and watch barges move up and down the river, for as long as you want!

I was born in Lawrenceburg..Dearborn Co. hospital. I left Lawrenceburg at an early age and when I returned many years later so much had changed. I wish I'd visited longer as it would be the last time I saw my mother and grandmother alive! I retraced my childhood youth..it was surreal! I will go back again soon..I truly miss it!!

I enjoyed this video of my hometown. Some suggestions for the next one. Add the following: The State of the Art Lawrenceburg School Complex, the parks and playgrounds in the bottoms, the historic Liberty Theater, the free downtown parking garage, the Ivy Tech campus, the Amphitheater, the many spectacular murals on historic buildings, the huge Public Library, the new Law Enforcement Center, and many fine downtown eateries.

Will probably never do another Lawrenceburg video, I’ve already done several. Just published a video about “easy adventures”, and showed the walking trail, which is great for all mobility levels. The other items you mentioned would be good for a real estate video though.

They did a really great job with what they did along the riverfront. The Riverwalk is great. So many river towns put up their levies and flood walls forgetting about the river, turning the town's back to the river. Riverwatch Restaurant is a nice place to eat. Lawrenceburg used to seem so far from Cincinnati but now it's just another farther out 'burb.

It’s a really nice walk up there. I’d filmed Lawrenceburg twice, two years apart, and they had drastically cleaned up the town, were well underway on either an apartment complex or hotel, I wasn’t sure what it was.

Not for a bit. But, I’ve been wanting to do a segment about Indiana’s monster legends, and northern Indiana has some great stories. I grew up at Greenwood, and travelled central and northern Indiana extensively in my 20’s. Some of the best museums in the state, and many awesome parks.

Very interesting Roger! Looking at the town in your video, and then in Google maps, it's hard to believe the population is only around 5000 people. Great architecture and riverfront too.

I wanted to do the video without music, to capture the small town charm, but the wind noise was horrible on both visits. It really is a great place to sit on a bench and watch the boats go by.

Thank you for mentioning that Seth! I have no idea how these sound on other peoples speakers. I will try listening through my headphones to adjust the final levels. Let me know if the next video is really bass heavy. I think I can just pull the levels down 10% and fix it.
