Using a groundbreaking technique that emphasized a light arm, Madame Margaret Stedman Chaloff became a sought-after teacher for classical as well as jazz pianists. Join two of her former students, Stephany Tiernan of Berklee College of Music and author of the book Contemporary Technique based on Chaloff’s methods, and Ran Blake of New England Conservatory, as they share their memories and address her remarkable musical legacy. In Newton, and later, in Boston, Chaloff worked with George Wein, Leonard Bernstein, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Kathy Rubbicco and many others. I studied with Mme Chaloff when I was 21, and after moving back to NYC drove to see her for lessons. She was an unforgettable person and a great inspiration. I wish I could have known and studied with her longer than the year and a half I had with her.

I'd suggest checking out Kenny Werner's Effortless Mastery, he studied with her too, not much info out there...
