Historic Payson Arizona

This is a narrated walking and driving tour mainly around the historic areas in Payson Arizona. Payson is a town located in northern Gila County in Arizona just ninety minutes north of Phoenix. The town is surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. The mild weather makes Payson perfect to visit in the Summer. So very different or you might say opposite to the dry desert parts of Arizona, the city has many cold-water lakes and very green landscapes.
Besides all the historic areas in town, Payson has a lot to offer. There are many lakes to go fishing, trails for hiking, Picnic Areas, parks, Stables, archaeological sites, waterfalls and more. Also you will find many restaurants, farmers market, museums, theatre, unique shops and Casino.

Hi Gasper, Payson looks so beautiful with being surrounded by a forest and having lakes. The historic hotel looked lovely, as did the buildings nearby. Nice that the town was named after the postmaster there, that must have been an honour. This place is like from an old Western film that my dad used to love 😃 Great old pictures of fire engines and the wagons and wheels outside were interesting to see . Hehe Bootleg Alley is a funny name . It was great to see the shops around and where you drove and also the cemetery. That's a lovely area and I enjoyed your tour :) ~ Anna 👍

The lakeside scenery was so beautiful, and the museum had interesting exhibits. The various shops also had moody decorations. It's nice to have a mild climate even in summer, but Japan's summers are too hot so I'd like to go here. Thank you so much for letting me know.
