As a Cardiff fan this was humiliating beyond words. I’ve said it for a few years since we’ve both been back in the championship how our side has lacked passion in these fixtures and have truly let the fans down time after time. Being a regular sat in the Canton, for about 70 mins it’s the loudest I’ve heard us but our players didn’t perform even slightly and it hurts to be on the wrong side of ‘history’. Where I’m from there is a divide between Cardiff and Swansea fans and I know a lot of my Swansea supporting mates will not let this one go anytime soon. A lot needs to be improved on ahead of next season.

It’s weird how you don’t tend to show up in the derby, obviously you’ve had your great wins too, chopra and Bellamy, and a 4-1 thumping in the welsh cup in the 90s, the first prem win at yours, but it’s strange otherwise how lacklustre it can be, let’s be honest we can say about Swansea are more up for it because of differing factors fan wise, but player wise hardly any local interest from playing staff for either of us with few exceptions, so I do find it bizarre that Swansea mostly have an edge? Obviously I don’t mean you when I say this as you seem sensible, but some of the comments from Cardiff fans and ex players and Celebs after the match Saturday are embarrassing, stating how rubbish Swansea were 😂 I’ve read umpteen times Cardiff don’t regard Swansea as rivals so they’re not bothered, maybe it translates on to the pitch? We are huge rivals and there’s nothing wrong in it, the best part of football is having your boogeyman, I don’t like the completely over zealous nature of wanting to rip each other’s limbs off it’s a bit pathetic tbh, but I like the hostility, but it definitely is a two way street, I see countless Cardiff fans saying we (Swansea) are not your rivals so they aren’t bothered, could be bravado, but I’ve seen it written for years, but Saturday was proof in the pudding when the attendance was a big number as Cardiff wanted to see their boys smash the jacks, i honestly don’t see what’s wrong in that, we’re 40 odd miles apart and don’t like each other, tickets sold! But whatever prep Cardiff do as playing clientele for this fixture isn’t as much as Swansea do, and the answer is I don’t know what is different, players should be up for evert game, but more so a local ding dong, the things I’ve read where we were apparently lucky on Saturday have made me laugh, it wasn’t a 0-1 bounce off the shin ricochet affair I think we played really well and we’ve had a season of meh mixed with chinks of hope, but, Morrison has done well with you, and the abuse he took Saturday was somewhat understandable but not great, that abuse tells me everything I need to know about how Cardiff fans REALLY see this fixture, we get to dance again next season so it may be very different.

In September 1988, after seeing their side win in Swansea, a group of around 30 Cardiff fans were chased into the sea near Swansea Civic Centre by a group of around 50 Swansea fans. Since then, Swansea fans have adopted a "swim away" gesture, in reference to the event.

Legend about a dog in the 1930's rescuing so many (not sure of figure) from the sea. Swansea refer to themselves as jacks, Cardiff call us Jack Bastards. I get the concept of "away day's", have been to many away games in my time but reference to the Swansea fan in a "white jersey" and your repeated question of how this allowed to happen as if the stewards or authorities are to blame. It's the people sitting you that are to blame. Do yourself one favour this weekend and google GAA (Irish amateur sport's) played in front of attendances bigger than Wembley and with fans mixing. Take it from me, but only increases the atmosphere for the better

The fan would’ve got in wearing a coat or something over the Swansea top. So don’t think that the steward’s are to blame when the top was covered up. But yes by the rule’s of the game he should’ve been instantly kicked out. Having said that with learning difficulties he might’ve been unable to get a ticket for the away section and just wanted to watch his team. I hope he had a carer or a support worker with him.
