Historical Epistemology: European perspectives - 14 novembre 2022

Il quinto incontro della serie Storia e filosofia della scienza: tradizioni storiografiche e prospettive
epistemologiche, è dedicato alla epistemologia storica, un approccio integrativo alla storia e filosofia della
scienza profondamente radicato nella tradizione epistemologica europea. Tre interventi esploreranno
diverse dimensioni dell’epistemologia storica: Hans-Jörg Rheinberger, uno dei massimi esponenti di questo
approccio, presenterà la sua personale prospettiva, incentrata sull’epistemologia della pratica scientifica e
sul ruolo dinamico dei sistemi sperimentali nella genesi, persistenza e trasformazione degli “oggetti
epistemici”. Laurent Loison approfondirà le criticità del rapporto tra passato e presente alla luce
dell’epistemologia storica, mentre Daniel Pietro Omodeo ne svilupperà le declinazioni più segnatamente
politiche.
The fifth meeting of the series History and philosophy of science: historical traditions and epistemological
perspectives is focused on historical epistemology, an integrative approach to the history and philosophy of
science deeply rooted in the European tradition of epistemology. Hans-Jörg Rheinberger, one of the leading
exponents of this approach will present his own perspective, focused on the epistemology of scientific prac-
tice and on the dynamical role of experimental systems in the establishment, persistence and change of “ep-
istemic objects”. Laurent Loison will deal with the criticalities of the relationship between past and present
in the light of historical epistemology, while Daniel Pietro Omodeo will highlight the political implications of
its endeavor
