Hi Christie - I enjoy your channel very much and am so impressed by the breadth of all that you read! Thank you for all your content. I second Amy Harmon's What the Wind Knows as a magical read. Since you enjoyed the pack horse book you rec'd I thought you might want to check out Carry the World by Susan Fanetti. It's actually a historical romance rather than historical fiction that tells the story of a young widow's experience as a pack librarian who encounters a widower with two young children along her route. It's a beautiful story and feels very immersive in the time period.

Thank you for all these great recommendations. Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See. It’s about one of the only female doctors during the Ming dynasty. Last Russian Doll by Kristen Loesch- it’s about the 1917 Russian revolution, a story of betrayal, revenge, love following three women in two different time periods. A great read. Another great historical fiction - The First Ladies by Marie Benedict - a story about partnership and friendship between Eleanor Rosevelt and her African American civil rights activist friend Mary McLeod Bethune. I learnt a lot reading about Mrs. Rosevelt.

You’re very good at describing these books! I love that you’re talking about historical fiction books! It seems like most book tubers only talk about contemporary romance and fantasy romance (which there is nothing wrong with) but it’s nice to see different books talked about ❤

Hi, I would like to recommend a historical fiction book with a supernatural twist. Joyce Carol Oates The Accursed. It takes place in Princeton NJ in the early 20th century and has fictional ties to Woodrow Wilson, Mark Twain and Grover Cleveland. Its unique and people hear supernatural and say they won't like it but that part makes the story more interesting. Stephen King liked it too!
