These have to be models. No air force personnel would ever lose their military bearing like these people.

jaytube2112, thanks for your the interest in the video and production. As the producer I can say that we had a few Air Force, local community members and AF Junior ROTC members who helped us don these uniforms of our Air Force past. I was charged with trying to bring a big uniform parade with about 2 months to get everything organized. We did allow the civilian leaders in our community to be less military in nature. We were really there to help bring our military and local community members together. In the end I think we achieved that goal. Thanks again for watching and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did coordinating the event.

@ 0:44 didn't know there was an air force in the civil war era 😕

Well....I know you're joking and it is funny. But, the U.S. Army was just beginning to use balloons for observation during the Civil War. And of course that led to them being a part of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Aeronautical Division prior to WWI. Which led to US Army Air Service, Army Air Corps, Army Air Force, and eventually, the USAF.

Enough of the jaw jacking . show the uniforms up close and explain each one !

Bill Huber, thanks for taking time to watch the uniform display. Unfortunately, for the video production we were under tight production constraints for airing and could not go into full detail on each uniform. During the event we gave a brief overview of each in a 20 minute display. Thanks again for watching!

hmm, senior airman? is that an A/2c, an A/1c...well, I am from back in the late 1950s :)

Should be a Buck Sgt! But sadly our NCO Rank starts at Staff now :)

Thanks for watching the video. For your question, the E-4 rank changed from being a strictly NCO grade of Sergeant to include Senior Airman in 1975. Historically speaking, at the time we were very similar in rank structure of the Army in having a Corporal and Specialist (E4) today. The Air Force eliminated the Sergeant or Buck Sgt rank in the late 90’s and now only have Senior Airman as E-4s.
