HISTORY AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE PADALARANG PAPER FACTORY 1922
In 1922, the Padalarang Paper Factory was officially established under the name NV Papierfabriek Padalarang. The location in Padalarang was chosen because it is close to abundant water sources and easily accessible by existing rail transportation. At the start of its operations, this factory produced various types of paper to meet domestic needs, including writing paper, printing paper and packaging paper.
Over time, the Padalarang Paper Factory experienced various challenges, including technological modernization, market changes and global competition. In the 1980s and 1990s, this factory made various efforts, restructuring and modernization to increase production efficiency and quality. The mill also began diversifying its products, to include newsprint, specialty paper, and recycled paper, in line with increasing environmental awareness.
