Actually the war of the worlds was actually very tame. Nobody was going out on the streets to fight aliens. At most 3% of Americans were listening to the broadcast.

Why didn’t they report on how many people committed suicide over this. Especially in New York City, there were people that jumped out of tall buildings.. you have to appreciate it radio was an unbelievable advance in technology. They had no televisions. This was like a Star Trek episode but real.. I had a similar thing happened to me. I started watching a movie called the Blair witch Project. I missed the opening of the movie. I did not know it was fiction.. I was fascinated. It was believable because I had never heard of this movie. I simply turned on my television, and I missed the first few minutes that was it. I never heard or read anything about this movie. So why shouldn’t I believe it. What I’m saying is, I can see how something like this would happen to millions of people if they did not know it was and entertainment show broadcast for Halloween
