There are 3 Royales in the Car Museum in Mulhouse in Alsace, France. The visit is worth just for the 3, all the rest is an extra luxury!

It's kind of annoying how the History Channel can't see past the cost of these cars. They have it backwards. They aren't interesting because they cost so much, they cost so much because they are so beautiful. Rarity doesn't enter into it as much as you might think. There are rare but ugly cars which will never be all that valuable. Edsel, for instance, is very rare at car shows, but if you find one for sale you won't have to pay $1m to buy it. Same with Nash Metropolitan. Ugly, rarely seen, not all that valuable if you find one for sale.

I would really build my own car better than any of those cars for $5000000 and have plenty of money left over

Well looks like the rich people always really had it good even the best and fastest and most expensive cars in the 1920s and 30s and probably would not even give ANY poor person any Crumbs from their tables give it to their dogs first

If I had ten million dollars, I'd buy that Gary Cooper's AND Clark Gable's cars and beat the crap out of them. I'd tear up the road! Run em to roaches. "There, douche bag. Restore that! lol.

you'd be vetted, wouldn't let you have it.
@Loulovesspeed5 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't be able to purchase one of them, let alone both for $10M today. Gary Cooper's sold in 2018 for $22,000,000.

Only 160 BHP from a 5.4 litre? Talk about underperforming.

Engines didn't have the tolerances they do today. Compression rates were significantly lower.
@captainboggles5 жыл бұрын
@@thecoltster1 plus, the Gas octanes were only 'room temperature' so compressions were low 5:1 not uncommon, torque was way more useful than HP hauling a 3 ton car in tractable style requires big torque....

The 1935 Duesenberg SJ was 320hp, 6.9 liter. Mercedes was apparently satisfied with a mediocre engine in a stunning chassis. The SSJ Duesenberg (only 2 built) was reportedly around 400hp - the most powerful car in the world, by far.
