This year in darts has been crazy. Mansell against Lukeman in the semi-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts, who would have thought it? I just love Cameron Menzies and his over-the-top behavior. It's certainly not for everyone, but he doesn't pretend to be anything he's not. After the game, I thought he would never let go of Mansell again. It's now a realistic scenario to see Mickey Mansell in a major final. Without wanting to offend him, I would never have thought that possible. But at the latest since Andrew Gilding's UK Open victory last year, we know that older players also have a chance of winning big tournaments. So why not Mickey Mansell as well? But of course it's also a great chance for Martin Lukeman. In any case, we'll have a surprise finalist who nobody expected.

Thoughts below: Didn't think I'd say this, but we already gonna have a new major finalist after tonight. AGAIN. More brilliant stories in darts in 2024. Mickey was a little fortunate considering he missed a lot of doubles, but he did give himself more opportunities than Cameron did. He just got on with stuff though, just kept his head down so credit to him for that. Martin has really surprised me so far this tournament. I thought Rob had an easy way into the final quite frankly, but no. He got outplayed near the end after what was a close match. Let's see what the other half brings tomorrow. Can't wait!

Menzies is irritating. He hits a 140 and walks back from the oche shaking his head as if in disgust. I believe he's a better player than Mansel but I am pleased he lost.

After such a brilliant game, with incredible sportsmanship shown by Menzies at the end to calm the crowd, I find that a strange comment personally. He's an incredibly emotional character as everyone can see, and the long format no doubt exacerbated that.

@@WestCoastWilliam he's in his first major quarter final, unknown territory. Considering how he suffers from anxiety - and it wouldn't surprise me if he has ADHD - he has to find those coping mechanisms, and as someone who is actively seeking an assessment I can relate to his state of mind. He was immediately apologising for his behaviour to James Wade after their match, and I've no doubt he'd be feeling the same way about some of his actions tonight. How that makes him a 'weapon' is beyond me.

He's certainly a bag of nerves I can relate a bit .it's hard to have to wait a day to play again rather than just playing same day but he has to adapt to compete. Frustrating as a fan knowing how good Cameron can be but he's his own worst enemy.world championship same kinda format playing different days so I don't expect him to go deep unless he gets through some of his mental issues
